This remix button they added to google messages. Yeah, when someone texts me a picture and I open it, I don't want to view it fullscreen. What I really want is to have it slightly expand and get partially covered up by this oversized banana icon and 'remix' it, whatever the fuck that means. Who asked for this? And who at Google thought it was cool not having a way to turn it off?

The only thing keeping me using an android phone at this point is the annoyance of learning a slightly new interface. Good thing Samsung is aiding my transition by adopting some of the dumb shit apple does like having the long press of the lock button open some dogshit AI assistant instead of a power menu now.

But that does remind me of one of my top Jimmy rustling areas which is UI in general. Its fucking retarded for any company to ever have a permanent UI team. They should be hired on contract only to design your interface. If your interface sucks you hire a new team to unfuck it. Having some dipshits who's job it is to sit around and come up with changes and new features for existing fucking products can go fuck themselves. All they do is change minor shit constantly to justify there fucking jobs.

Human beings learn something one way. stop fucking with it. If I want to deal with learning a new way of doing it I will deal with that when I buy a new phone/pc/tablet/insert electronic device here, on my terms on my schedule. I don't need or want a new UI for my existing phone every 3 months, you dumb fucking faggots.

Samsung's swipe to answer a call is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. It doesn't expose this functionality at all.

The place we were with since we moved here never went up more than $50 the entire 10+ years we've been in NV. They left the state entirely so I had to shop it out.

Try to set up a fake phone number or proxy and an alt email before you do it because the second you hit send, you will get spammed with calls/emails/texts.

Jeebus yes, I made this mistake when interested in Solar for the house. I was punished for a full YEAR. It all felt so scammy and high pressure, I just said no to everybody. Plus VA is getting too taxxy, expensive, and the drivers crash daily while driving in a straight line (especially if it's a tunnel), so it's time to move once the kiddos are done with school. Saving solar for the forever home.

Zero upside of solar, it is like owning a car. Constant maintenance and battery storage price barely outweighs the savings. Might have changed the past few years but when I crunched all the numbers it felt like a scam.

if solar is your only option and you already have a new roof then sure, eat the cost but it basically never pays for itself.

Solar only works when there's massive government gibs to pay for installation otherwise you lose money over the life of the roof.

hah. Some cunt did this to me. Looked into solar and gave them my number. Took me a while but once I figured out they were all calling about a specific address, I started telling them yes, I wanted the top end shit. Come by the house and get started ASAP! You don't need me to be home, do you? Of course, this lady was giving out my number all over town. super cunt.

As power gets cheaper and the solar materials/install gets more expensive, it becomes a lot less worth it.

It's all about the payoff time in terms of the amount you can generate, what your power cost is, and what your final installed price is. If the payback time is greater than about 7 years, I'd pass, you're unlikely to get payback before you have to sell or move.

I had a helicopter flight today. On this particular helicopter there are 16 seats. 4 rows of 4. The 2 center rows have a gap for luggage and are therefore much more cramped than the front or back rows. The back row is by far the most comfortable row. Wider seats, more room, everything. The front row is the second best because while the seats are still narrow, at least there's room between them. Those center row seats are downright painful for a fat ass like me. The only people who can be comfortable there are the phillipino cooks. There were 14 of us flying today. Before we board the pilot tells us all 16 seats will be taken because they had to use 2 for luggage. Now given the information I just gave, you might think they just overflowed the luggage compartment and took up 2 of the shitty center row seats. But no. They put luggage in 2 of the primo back row seats. My jimmies would have been literally rustled if I wasn't first in line and able to get one of the remaining primo seats. It's like the people who load the luggage have never flown in a helicopter. You don't even need a ruler to tell the difference in width. It's obvious to the naked eye.

From experience, everyone I had to deal with re: solar was a scumbag bar none. I felt like I needed a shower when I spoke /emailed them. It was easy to tell when they were lying because their lips would be moving. I was getting paid to do it though by work so I didn't complain (too much)

Our town (or state don't recall) but there was a ballot to allow over generation of solar on private property for sale back to the utility at retail rates. If it had passed I was going to turn my back yard (8/10 an acre) into the Kajiimagi offsite generating station #69! but it didn't pass.

I did price out doing my house at 105% (because regardless of what they tell you when it's over 90F solar does not operate at 100% efficiency) with me owning it all. I got 3 numbers, 1 from my company, 1 from a recommended sub , and 1 from the local co-op. My company was highest! There is a rustle AND they knew it was for me! None of them made it possible to as much as break even before it was time to worry about the inverter dying.

Just took the kids to see Santa.

Had to stand in line behind 4 or 5 fat, blue haired gender ambiguous aspies that are in their late teens or early 20s. All of them were waiting to sit on Santa's lap and this poor old bastard was not excited.

We did the same, our pictures were junk. At least he (my youngest grandson) sat in his lap this year.

When I was still in HS my brother played Santa in the mall. I of course went and harassed him (as you do when you are the older brother). He got really mad one time when a kid pee'd on him.

Was making my New Year's pitas tonight, same recipe as I've always done, chucked it in my stand mixer and somehow it was thick as fuck and just immediately rode up my attachment so hard, it kicked the mixer top enough that I think the motor's gears have skipped. It's completely off kilter, now, the speed settings are all wrong, and now it just overheats super quick. Tried to take really good care of this thing for the past 10-15 years, now I'm salty as fuck that I've killed it. Certainly can't afford a new one, now, and was supposed to bake cookies tomorrow and I don't own a hand mixer for that. Going to be a pain in the ass.

Solar only makes sense if you live in the southwest and plan on owning for 10+ years. Cant imagine how upside down the numbers are outside of say Arizona.

Of course, people usually talk about breakevens assuming a relatively sane progression of electricity cost. If you can make it anywhere close to reasonable for your location, it might be a pretty nice hedge against the ai-tricity-pocalypse.
There's also something to be said for some degree of grid independence even if it's a a premium. That's obviously not a financially-oriented decision though.
