Even getting just a battery "for backup" purposes - then charging it over night (cheaper) - then having the battery run during prime, can cut your monthly due to it playing the peak/prime cost game.

Weirdly, I think its actually illegal to charge your battery from the grid during off-peak and use it during peak. The powerwalls and most battery systems will only charge from the solar, not from the grid. Otherwise if I got a free nights/weekends plan I would never pay for electricity again.

can't have people avoiding dynamic pricing. most places that have it, 3-4pm til 7-8pm can be up to double off peak rates. seen clips where cities have quadruple rates during critical peak times, like during a heat wave.
