What's rustling my jimmies this Monday morning:

White liberals who don't know a fucking thing about Venezuela being UP IN ARMS for the release of "president" Maduro.

They're so consumed by their all-pervasive hatred for Orange Man, everyone associated with him, and everyone who doesn't hate him like they do, that they're willing to protest on behalf of an actual dictator.

Meanwhile the actual Venzuelans are overwhelmingly overjoyed at said dictator being out of power and hoping the woman who beat him in the last election can finally take power and start fixing all the damage caused by him.

People are STUPID.

Yes, login.gov is where I saw this.

Your explanation covers why it started, it doesnt begin to explain why a single person complied with this.

Ranting again at the cunts who set it up and the cucks that complied - people who havent read or understood scifi shouldnt be allowed to make decisions about the future.

Like most everything blame the poos, the illegals, and the boomers.

Scammers gonna scam and before this all it took was just a bit of online id theft/stealing a few pieces of mail to create benefits accounts using old folks ID. You'd be surprised to learn just how many boomers turned 65 and went to start collecting their SS only to learn that someone had already been collecting SS disability on their names for years.

Ok if you are following all the welfare/daycare/Somali shit in the news maybe you won't be that surprised just know that this shit has been going on decades and when DOGE said half of all government benefits are actually fraud they were prolly downplaying it.

Alot of it also was elder abuse by caretakers in nursing homes which is why they require video teleconference to verify ID and make sure someone isn't there with them pulling the strings while they set up their accounts.

People who take advantage of the old, whether it's to cast fraudulent vote ballots or collect fraudulent benefits that should be going to the old person instead, really are the scum of the Earth. Hopefully they're going to the special hell reserved for people who abuse children and animals.

my tv decided it needed to be activated again. after doing the bs online and making sure to deselect all the junk it wanted to install, it installed them anyway. it apparently forgot all my setting, but did keep my wifi password.

My wife bought this for the kids playroom. I hate it so, so much.

I feel for you that you obviously married a not cool wife, or a wife who was so cool she did so many drugs, that she forgot what cool was. Because that, my good sir, is pretty much the opposite of cool.

With AI, all things are possible!

Doesn't take AI. I have been listening to Scott Bradley's Postmodern Jukebox for years. I had never even heard of the Megan Trainor song "All about that bass" until I heard his rendition, which featured a woman playing an actual stand up bass.

But now for today's sentimental end of the holidays jimmy rustling... (warning, "Story Time with Haus" story incoming...)

I get out of my shower today, after taking down the xmas decor in most of the house (it is past Feast of the Epiphany after all and we're not monsters). Sitting down to see who I can troll in the politics sub here and I smell something.... something bad... something I can't really identify other than that it reminds me of something old. This bothers me a little, so I call my wife into the room. She sniffs around and smells it even stronger (she has a better sense of smell than me). It smells old, but also like failing electronics. reminding me some of my early on "learning phase" attempts doing electronics work when I was a wee Haus with my first soldering iron.

Last piece of xmas decor to put up is the little xmas tree on my desk. This tree is around 7 years old. It's small enough that I pick it up with all the ornaments and everything, unplug is and put it in it's box until next year. A gift from a year when holiday depression was hitting my wife and I hard (long story), to the point we hadn't even put up a tree. When I was talking about this with someone at my work a great guy I worked with surprised me on the last day before xmas with a little plug in light up tree because he said he didn't think I should be without one. So I went home and in the xmas decor we had pulled down that year but not put out I got out this tree angel. A tree angel my grandmother had gotten me when I was a wee Haus and one year she decided I needed my own little Christmas tree for my bedroom. Then it hits me. The smell is coming from the 50 year old angel which had little lights in it's little plastic angel body and the electronics had finally given up the ghost. I guess I have a project for next year to rebuild it, put a post it note on it, and accepted it as a strange way to wrap the xmas season this year....

we have used an angel like this for at least 25 years.

it is pre-led, it uses a small halogen bulb, there is a small disc with different colors that rotates that makes the color change.

we put up the tree the sunday after thanksgiving and it stays on about 16 hours a day. few days before Christmas, look at the tree and the angel is leaning to the left. first think the tree is falling over, but it is still straight up and down. look under the robe and the angel's base has gotten hot and melted. i don't know how hot it is supposed to be but it is still really hot, but not enough to bend it back. tree is still up a few more days and hasn't melted anymore, so don't know if just really hot one day or what. guess my project before next year will be to try to figure out if can bend it back and switch to leds.

If you have a heat gun use that to warm it up and re-bend it. Then swap the halogen out for an LED equivalent for a low heat answer. heh
