Doing construction and realizing the classic rock station plays the same fucking songs every fucking day.
Not even that, sometimes the same songs at the same time. Several years ago, I was cycling through the stations, and hit them playing the same fucking song at the same time.

I think all these stations have the same mix CD that has 9 songs on it.

That was Charlotte NC in the late 80's early 90's all the 'rock stations' all the time.

First off, they all have a boiled down list of probably 15 song max that are the essence of "classic rock" for those stations.. Those 15 songs will be 70%+ of what you hear every hour. In this day and age it's a super condense playlist (depending on who you have play rights with) and in all honesty I don't know how/why "live DJs" even exist anymore.

As for related Jimmy rustling... When you're rolling with a good run of Classic Rock and you look to notice that no... It's not a Classic Rock station, it's the Oldies station.

90's, friend was a dj at a small market radio station. they got their main playlist from some agency each morning. iirc, he got to pick 1-2 song per hour from another list he could add to the playlist. some songs could get up to 30+ plays per day.

I've probably said this before but I heard it once and it rings true.

They don't play Enter Sandman 20 times a day for you, the lifelong classic rock aficionado, the guys who know the names of the drummers in each band and could tell you which year each album was released.

They play it for Timmy who's never heard Metallica before.

It doesnt make classic rock stations any less frustrating to listen to, for old guys like us, but at least it makes it make sense.

That must have been so frustrating.

Amen , by the time my clueless friends 'discovered' Metallica I was sick to fucking death of Sandman. Still cannot stand to hear it.

When you’re talking about a book you’re reading and someone starts talking about the tv or movie adaptation.

small grievance but grinds my gears.

for example, if I talked about the Borne Identity (book) people would always be like “oh I don’t remember than in the movie.” The director and screenwriter didn’t even read the book. I’m not talking about the movie. I’m talking about the book.

Kids story time. Our youngest grandchild spends one night a week at our house, which i can't recommend enough to grandparents. I asked him (5yo) this morning if he's going to invite us over when he has a house. He replied, nope, you'll be dead. Then he went back to coloring like it was an obvious answer.

Screw it, I'm going to stay alive just to prove him wrong.
