Shit, haven’t heard that yet but I can see why you’d mention it.
It is still persistent in a few guys I follow on youtube and pod casts. Gotten so bad I stopped listening to adeptus Ridiculous already. Though my hatred for DK was already pretty high at that point.

If this is so you have hot water instantly, I can recommend using a hot water recirculator instead - I have 2 80 gallon water heaters, a little pump runs 24/7 (uses ~50 watts, I measured) and you got hot water instantly at every single faucet in the house.

I replaced the pump when I replaced my water heaters last, has been trouble-free.
That is how commercial properties (hotels, etc.) do it.

I hate how every analog device is now being converted to a digitized log in service.

I use the local laundromat like a Pleb. At least the machines have a large capacity, its open 24/7 and there are wall to wall machines. I can start my shit early and get on with other errands... Right?

Fast forward 6 years. My favorite laundromat has been bought out and renovated by a chain. Everything that made this place convenient has been stripped away.

Auto locking doors from 9AM to 10PM (open to close). Half the amount of machines and of a smaller size. They all have digital interfaces too, which will in time shit the bed before a classic button. The worst strike of all is the need to LOG IN TO USE A FUCKING WASHER.

"Servers are down and cant log in? Oh well, fuck you and the dirty socks you rode in on."

"Firmware update needs to be installed? Sorry go Kick rocks buddy."

You know you can buy extra large capacity washer/dryers right? I have 2 here that I've had for 11+ years.

I should have mentioned earlier, my apartment is an old New England house divided into 2 units. Because the design is archaic, the hookup in my apartment is set inside of a small alcove that probably served an entirely different purpose back when people had bed pans and washed clothes in a basin. Every New England house I have ever lived in has had some weird design quirk, vaulted ceilings, stairwells added after the fact that are too narrow with sharp angles, etc...

Maybe my real gripe should be with the house's design...

If I were to buy a conventional style washer and dryer with longer tubes and pull them away from the alcove so they could actually fit, I would be blocking the bottom of the stairwell. I've looked into the vertical efficiency washers just to play around with the dimensions before and it might work if its not too tall.

If anyone uses and can vouch for the vertical style hit me up.

I can, they are mostly worthless. The only thing more worthless is the all in one units.

You can get small ones like euro and japan style.

Or get one of the new all in one washer and dryer combo unit that actual does not suck, my co worker has one. Then its just one.

We had a vertical in our townhome it was fine no real difference other than load size it worked well

I’ve had a string of bad luck lately with products and services. For example, took a day off two weeks back for a large delivery I had to sign for. FedEx would only estimate 8am-8pm. I sat at home all day and they delivered it at 6:45pm making my vacation day a waste.

Today I had a plumber coming to do work. I was told 8am-noon. I had to do a lot of space clearing the night before to make room for this dude to work. I also had to turn my 9 year old down when she asked me to take her to a father/daughter event at the last minute. I got up this morning and started waiting. At 11:45am I get a text that they will be rescheduling my appointment for Monday. I ended up rescheduling for Wednesday when I work from home. So on top of wasting a bunch of time, I missed quality time with my kids, and had to put stuff back so we can function until Wednesday.

My biggest complaint about oklahoma is kinda this, not had many good experiences with good quality work, timeliness, etc. Like I have things I need to get done I'm scared to hire anyone for it ending up being another disapointment.

It’s been happening to me so much lately, everywhere with everything that I’m starting to believe it’s the sign of the times. Work ethic and quality of products have rapidly declined.

All we can hope for is that it gets so bad, the pendulum will start to swing in the other direction and it corrects itself.

Most all in ones indeed suck, they were Asian and Euro models - and where meant to be smaller loads that just could not really keep up for “a full American home”

My co worker read a lot of reviews on it, and it’s one of the new generation of combos.

It’s a heat pump, inverter and direct drive.. it uses a normal power plug and is ventless lol

He got one it worked so well he got 2 so he can be ultra Batchelor life and just swap one and the other lol

Fed Ex has gone downhill completely. Now it's just some ghetto dude in a contracted out rental truck who gives no shits. In my area, you don't even have the option to pick it up. Some adult has to be at home to sign for it or you are fucked completely. I've already ranted about it here a few weeks back lol
