Use Bitwarden with a random generated master password (mine is 32 chars long and I don't remember it cuz it's jibberish) and use the random password generator in it to sing up for your sites. Lastpass was getting hacked left and right, have not had a problem with Bitwarden, plus it's free.I am trying to make a login for my companies new 401k administrator. Un fucking believable.
It tells me I need 3 of the 4 following.
Cap letter
Lower case
Number
Special character.
So I enter a password with all but the special character. It won't let me register because the special character is required.
Ok cool whatever. I make one with all 4.
It won't let me register because my password needs to be more secure and I should use more than one word.
I enter the password with spaces. It was already a sentence so no big deal. As soon as I enter the first space the special character requirement lights up red again and it won't let me create the account because the special char is still required.
update:
I talked to tech support. Get your big chief tablet and number 2 pencil out because you're going to want to take notes.
When you get that message saying "your password needs to be more secure, try using a phrase", there are 2 things the average bear has no way of knowing.
1. It spits out that message because it compares your password to a list of hacked passwords from the dark web and it will not let you use any password that has ever been hacked. Regardless of the username. In all of history. So basically you have to come up with one nobody has ever used.
2. Spaces aren't allowed. When it says try a phrase. It doesn't mean that literally. It's just meant to be a meaningless platitude to frustrate you.
I guess their security philosophy is, if the user can't remember his password the funds are secure. You fucking IT fucks wonder why we keep writing our passwords on sticky notes.
Free security sounds like a problem.Use Bitwarden with a random generated master password (mine is 32 chars long and I don't remember it cuz it's jibberish) and use the random password generator in it to sing up for your sites. If it's free, you are the product.Use Bitwarden with a random generated master password (mine is 32 chars long and I don't remember it cuz it's jibberish) and use the random password generator in it to sing up for your sites. This point bro you may just need to live with the fact this is your forever home, you seem to be rebuilding it one room at a time.OK....
The wife comes to me and tells me she's finding the bath rug in front of her tub being mysterious soaked....
Every morning.... soaked rug.....
I think immediately probably culprits, bad toilet seal... Bathtub drain gasket rotting out... worse scenario... MAYBE a leaky pipe in the wall behind the toilet (easy) or bath fixture (fuuuuuu have to redo tile after getting it fixed).
The plumber we use does a once a year "come out and check everything" , and I was having him swap out a couple external garden hose fixtures anyway, so I tell him about this and have him take a look.... described over the phone without telling him what I thought and he also suspected almost the exact same list.
He gets there...
He's scratching his head too. Sees where the water is getting in, seeping in and completely saturating the bottom of the framing and everything. But no active water flow anywhere. Light comes on....
- Checks and none of the water is escaping around the toilet (caulking seal still completely solid).
- Undoes the tub drain and checks, gasket is fine. Fills tub... nothing leaking there.
- Has to cut the drywall behind the toilet to check there... No pipe leaks (???)
Goes to the other side of the wall, which is my bathroom. Goes into my shower. Pops the drain cover off, shoves a stopper in. Runs the shower to get around 3/4" of water in the shower basin.
Goes to wife's bathroom... Yep.. water seeping now. Drops a dye tablet and can see it flowing from my side.
Goes back, investigates, calls me in. Seems the idiots who put in my shower drain and did the stonework in my shower (whole thing, including floor is travertine) didn't even VAGUELY install the shower basin seal right. It's the rubber sheet UNDER the shower floor that makes sure water getting through the tile ends up in the drain. They also failed to the point that water going down the normal drain could get back up into the area under the shower floor. So when anything didn't let the drain complete flow unobstructed it was flooding the space in those layers.
Fixable? Yeah... All I have to do is DEMO THE WHOLE DAMN SHOWER FLOOR and 8" up the wall, then install a whole new liner, a PROPER drain and drain connect, redo the leveled mortar, retile the floor and such in the shower. so...

So that whole floor, and two rows of tile up the wall, PLUS the stuff on the angled part.
This is kinda where the wife is at. I still dream of a place with some land and a properly sized garage/workshop. And by properly sized I mean a garage/workshop with about the same Sq Ft size as the house. This point bro you may just need to live with the fact this is your forever home, you seem to be rebuilding it one room at a time.
Did she face any consequences for thatFree advice, you get what you pay for.
EDIT: I think I'm coming back to this, you two are people I interact on this forum quite a bit, you seem decent dudes.
You're what , writing your passwords on paper ? Sticky notes? Being diligent?
I cannot buy a car now if I want to unless I use cash. I cannot get a loan now unless I plan exactly when to apply, why? Cuz some free password manager? NO Because NIKKI-FUCKING CUNT-FACE-HALEY gave away all our info when she was the governor of SC. I spent most of a month cancelling old accounts and opening new ones (including a mortgage and yeah that was fun!) because I was so compromised, and my wife and I were 2 of 3.6 MILLION impacted by her stupid shit. Cannot call it a hack, it was on an unencrypted server. Might as well throw money in the road and call it a robbery when someone stops and picks it up. I froze all our credit that day and when we do need something we have to plan when to look for it. Stops me from impulse buying a Lambo but that's about the only good thing.
This is an AI Summary:
In 2012, then-South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley accepted personal blame for a massive cyberattack on the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR), stating the state failed to encrypt taxpayer data and use two-factor authentication.
The breach, which began in August 2012 when an employee clicked a malicious link, resulted in the theft of 3.6 million Social Security numbers, 3.3 million bank account numbers, and tax records for approximately 6.4 million individuals and businesses dating back to 1998. Haley described the combination of outdated 1970s-era equipment and reliance on IRS guidelines that did not mandate encryption as a "cocktail for attack," leading her to urge the federal government to require data encryption.
- Responsibility: SLED Chief Mark Keel stated in 2024 that he knows who is responsible but has not released details, though KrebsOnSecurity suggests the attack was carried out by a Russian hacking crew linked to breaches at Target and Home Depot.
- Aftermath: The state paid $12 million for identity protection services, and SCDOR Director Jim Etter resigned following the incident.
Your password on a sticky note is no good either when we depend on dipshits at the top.
I'm going in the yard and yell at the clouds now.
tl;dr I'm fucked either way

yeah , she got to run for President, or are you not in the USA? Someone here is an auzzie so it may be you. I wouldn't vote for that worthless cunt to be a fucking dog catcher.Did she face any consequences for that

Too late now, but you have to watch people like a hawk on any project. I reno'd the interior of a house. Started running out of time, so hired in help to finish. Had them put in new sheet rock in the laundry and under the stairs and various other projects. I left for the day, came back, and they put in the sheet rock incorrectly. The worker didn't even know how to measure a hole for the electrical outlet and patched in bits of sheet rock around it. One guy left handprints on the new bathroom ceiling paint near the fan, and someone cracked a bathroom window sill.OK....

Bet she had to suck a lot of old dick to be the Governor of SC which is deeply racist.TIL Nikki Haley was born Nimarata Nikki Randhawa and is the first Indian American to be a cabinet member
People get mad when I tell them the only thing different between a mcmansion and a house trailer is the wheels and the finishes. They are both made with cheap ass labor, with cheap ass materials, by cheap ass contractors. And the more we have a skilled labor shortage , the worse it will get.Too late now, but you have to watch people like a hawk on any project. I reno'd the interior of a house. I made the owner himself redo it all, and he whined that he was losing money on it. None of this was difficult, either....so these guys were real fuck ups.
A different time, place and house. Had some interior work done. Some 50 y/o drunk burnout was removing trim in an area where no work was being done. I made him put it back, and he used caulk instead of nails. This was newly painted trim, too. Took him a fucking long time to fix it. Hours. GC looked at it, shook his head and was red in the face. I guess he spent a lot of time fixing this guy's work. I became friends with the GC, and he retired some years later. He said it was the best day of his life because he no longer had to work around idiots. MOST of these workers are idiots.
I rented a house before that. Newish build by like 4-5 years. Supposed to be upscale type place. EVERYTHING was wrong with that fucking place. All the windows leaked air, the HVAC was wildly undersized, front door leaked everything. It had an unfinished bedroom downstairs next to the bathroom. That PEX shit was sticking out all over the place and had to be completely redone. Also, insulation fell down in the walls, so 3/4 of the height of the walls were bare. It was 80F and the HVAC running at full tilt couldn't cool the place. House needed at least $150k in rework to make livable. Neighbors on both sides had houses built by the same company, and both houses had the sun facing windows blacked out. That unfinished bedroom had incorrectly installed headers on both door and windows.
Every time I see a Gomez with a hammer, I want to take it off him and beat him to death with it.
