We didn’t go for the religious stuff but in the early 80s when my wife and I were looking for something to watch on TV, (we could only pull in 5 or 6 channels) we would pause and watch Jimmy Swaggart because he had one of the tightest gospel/old timey/bluegrass bands around. He had a "university" or school whatever it was in Baton Rouge. After he got caught with a hooker in the bad part of town all that went poof. My niece used to competitive diving at the giant pool someone took over. The place was really nice, seemed pretty lavish for a religious shool.
Some family. Him and his two cousins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley. A number of other cousins/family are all in the music business. Music is/was a family thing. Jerry Lee Lewis is listed as his double cousin, not sure what that means other than Jerry marrying a relative at one point.
