The Greg Biffle prelimary crash report came out. NASCAR driver with private jet that crashed killing all on board. It was an illegal flight. The person that identified as the pilot did not have a waiver to fly without a co pilot. One other pilots did not have a type rating for that aircraft or anything near it. The other (probably Biffle) had a lot of hours but was not typed to fly as copilot or in command. Lot of stuff wsent wrong from before they got off the ground. Some recording from mics was not there but apparently they were staying low flying VFR (Visual flight rules) until they could pick up IFR (Instrument flight rules) plan to continue onward. Then they crashed. From start up they had guage warnings not matching what they were seeing and it got worse.
Near the end they had them on mic asking why not climb. Apparently they did to 4000' feet but they apparently lost sight of the ground and were no longer VFR.
I guess Greg picked it up from his former boss. Jack Rousch flew a private jet and had a number of crashes/incidents to the point many wondered how long before the FAA grounded him. Then he quit flying.
