We're talking about improving LFD. What's your beef? I'm not the drama queen here.
I've stated already improvements that I would like to see and even brought up the Circles that they are doing. Your response had zero to do on my stance. I feel for you, I just can't reach yah.

Now that everyone agrees, this game is still looking like the best upcoming MMO in awhile. Hope it can deliver what it promises.

Yup. The previous game for which I had some good feelings was Guild Wars 2. I was willing to overlook the fact that it had blurry roles (no tank! no heal!) and no raiding game, both of which finally broke the game for long term.

Wildstar doesn't seem to fall on those points, and it adds interesting housing. The only reservation is the overall theme - it's a bit too sunday-morning cartoony space-opera.

I personally love the tongue-in-cheek style commentary that some games give. This shit? Appears to be right up that alley. Blizzard may have taken the real world humor angle a bit too far, but this game seems like it knows the limits of the medium and is all over the applicable comedy levels.

I approve.

The biggest problem is going to be people setting unrealistic expectations. Still does look very promising and from some of the interviews the designers actually understand player behavior and why we do things.

I can't fault them for copying WoW's graphic style, it is very popular and they seem to have done a good job of it. But personally, I have no interest in playing in a saturday morning cartoon so I will not be playing this game. Which is also the main reason I only played WoW for a couple of months, even though it is a good game otherwise.

Wildstar looks to be a solid game from this side of launch. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes one of the biggest players on the mmo block in a short time.

With you here. I'd say my level of excitement over the game is pretty similar to how I felt going into Rift, where I was just so enamored with the design team. Things are a little different here as there look to be quite a few elements of the game mechanics specifically that I'm looking forward to. I'm not going to let myself get too excited though. It is the game I'm most looking forward to as of now though.

I think that most people's expectations are solid:
LFD system with cross server capabilities.
Online, web based leaderboards, profiles and other things.
An end game that is worth playing.

Currently they have all of that, or say they will. The only thing that I'm skeptical about is their end game content, because that's impossible to prove until you actually play it. You are probably guaranteed that the leveling experience is going to be top notch.

Hooray for another MMO that nails the leveling experience... Maybe I'm just a half glass empty kind of guy, but this does not get me excited in the least. In every other MMO I find myself grinding through the leveling experience, so I can actually play the game.

Only MMOG in recent history where I actually enjoyed leveling was Warhammer, because doing it solely by PVP was perfectly viable in terms of XP, money, and gear.

My only real concern with game is the limited skill selection. Not a lot of info on how many skills we can slot into those 7 spots and how often we'd want to change them out so game isn't stale. One of my peeves with Rift back in the day was a lot of classes could end up playing 1 button raiding/pve and it was boring. (not saying we need 40 buttons to play but when your entire rotation is a simple macro we could have bots player just as well as a human.

Same thing can be said about the 15 button rotations of WoW. If you really think about it, what options did you have there? You hit the same keys, in the same sequence, like every other good player did, because if you didnt you were not top DPS on the DPS meter and you were then shunned and laughed by the community for being a shitty player. You were not playing the game, you were playing whack a mole with the UI.

Well let me rephrase. 2 concerns. Second being for a game that's supposedly going to enter beta and release this year there is a lot of things they plan to leave until the beta and still two announced classes making me think 2 not fully implemented/tested/started balancing classes.

Could be PR thing for classes but they stated they won't be at start of Beta either so kind of doubt that. When you're missing 1/3rd of your classes makes me wonder how many zones and such are completed. Normal mmo stuff basically of are they as feature complete as they'd like us to believe.

*Edit. Do we know if they're doing a pvp stat on pvp gear or anything like that? I seem to recall they said people wouldn't have to compete for gear stats to be competitive in pvp but at same time recall reading you earn pvp gear through pvp...

Classes work via Milestones and Ability Points. Your ability points are like talent points. Milestones give you bonuses and augments to your skills after your stats reach a certain level. I.e. you have dinged 100 Str and now you get a buff to your dps ability.

Classes, I guess, get your normal amount of abilities that you have to put into layouts on your hotbar. I believe you can change this up OOC.

WoW was the same way, though. I know everyone has failed to even come close still but lol @ hunter and pally near end of beta.

And warlock. But they patched warlocks like really fast, think it was first live patch, cause I was still leveling when there was a bunch of patch notes that fixed a ton of bugs with the skills and tooltips of the talents and what not. Also important to note wow beta lasted a lot longer than this beta should last if they plan on a release this year.

GW2 had the same thing about the Mesmer reveal though, they revealed it fairly late, basically right as they entered beta. The reason was that Mesmer had been completely remade in alpha and it wasn't fleshed out enough to really be able to do a class reveal with abilities that might or might not make it, and they took their sweet ass time working on it. Even during closed beta there were a lot of changes to mesmer. But it was playable before they made the reveal.

Doesn't mean they're not there, but they might not be ready to make an announcement about the classes when they're still prone to change, or it's partly PR and they're keeping one for beta start and one for later, or something.

From what I have read they will all be ready for the first beta. This is part of the marketing hype plan to keep revealing stuff. Though we all know better to believe everything developers say.

Player made content comes in 3? forms that we know about:

1. Player Housing. Instanced.
2. Warplots - Guilds build these big things and use them to fight other guilds.
3. Settlers can help other settlers build up towns and other locations. They can improve settlements and help bring about more vendors etc. That sort of thing.
