Finally a dedicated healer class, here is to hoping I can smash my keyboard while staring at lifebars again.
No that is not sarcasm, a good healer saves the fucking day and healing is the only thing that keeps me playing an mmo longer then the shiny weres off.
Now if everyone can heal themselves or healer is better replaced by dps class I will be sad.

I can vouch for that, I've always been attracted to the healing class no matter what MMO I've ever played. That said, many people who think the holy trinity should go the way of the dinosaurs make me real sad. Teaming up in MMO's have always been about the tank/dps/healer!

I dislike healing personally, but I understand that appeal completely. I loved tanking in WoW during BC and WotLK and being able to have that tanking feel again without tons of gimmicks would be nice. None of this healing myself or swapping aggro bullshit, unless it is just for specific fights of course.

Same, I've always played heals in every game I've played. I hope that some healers do far more well in certain fights than other healers, too. They've said that's what they want to do and I hope they stick with it. Here's to hoping tanks actually require heals and aren't self sufficient 90% of the time outside of raids. That's the reason I quit WoW because dungeons were so fucking boring I was dpsing 90% of the time as a resto druid.

Ha, mounts too cheap would be funny, since the cost of a mount usually equals the-most-gold-you-can-earn-by-this-level-if-you-save-every-copper.
Having got a good taste of what PVE can be like with no real healer/tank in GW2 I am over my misguided "Down with the holy trinity!" way of thinking. What a massive cluster fuck that can turn into. Content is either too easy so you don't have to worry about the heals/aggro, or so difficult that it turns into a mess with people dodging/running all over the place to avoid death. Pretty awful experience overall. I'm sure there is a TON they could of done to make it better, but I think traditional group roles do have their value and it shouldn't be ignored for the sake of being a unique little snowflake.
That being said I don't think I am going to make the same mistake by rolling DPS as my first class. Healing and tanking are such vital roles and I have trust issues when it comes to strangers taking them.
