Actually no, what I said was if you think they aren't specifically employing this humour style /atmosphere to attract a younger demographic, then you are deluded...that's the whole point of what I'm saying.

Clearly implies if you find the videos funny you are a child yourself. Among other things the video aims to be funny to the viewer. If a viewer finds it funny then it has achieved it's goal regardless of age or maturity level. Throwing a blanket statement like. "If you find that funny your an immature child" is simply ignorant. I guarantee there are people out there that are more mature and successful then the both of us put together that find the videos funny.

Disclaimer - I personally don't find the videos very funny but enjoy their fast pace and quality.

Meh, every product has a target audience. Just because an adult likes happy meals doesn't mean the marketing was targeted at the individual, and was successful. They may just like small, bland, shitty burgers for some inexplicable reason.

I'm pretty sure MMO gamers are their first and foremost target. Age has no bearing as long as they are MMO gamers. Matter of fact I'd go as far to say that if age did have a bearing they'd be going for guys with disposable income especially with all the cash shops infesting our games these days. Therefore not teenagers. The closest thing that I'd be confident to say is aimed towards teens is CoD even though it appeals to all ages.

Again, not to nitpick, but data collection by survey is intensely flawed, especially in an anonymous digital medium.

A more accurate statement is 'the averagestatedage of MMORPG gamers whoresponded to this surveyis 26years old'. Very different than the actual statement on that page.

But it's infinitely more accurate then assuming that only older people did the survey. By your logic it could also mean that most MMO players are females because most females didn't bother taking to survey. Or there are more black than white people that play MMO's but because we like to stereo type most black people are lazy and that's why they didn't take the survey..Yeah doesn't sound right does it..

What I'm saying is, survey results collected in this fashion are almost useless.

Anyway, done shitting up this thread with this debate.

Back to how awesome Wildstar looks and there is absolutely nothing to objectively criticize!

Just listened to the interview done by f2p at gamescom of jeremy gaffney. I guess all executive producers look like used car salesman.

But, I do want to see what the captured raid bosses thrown into the warplot pvp looks like. Summon the random npcs in av?

I'm sure it'll be roughly like EQ2's system where you place a piece of furniture that is the static 3D model of a creature that becomes active when placed. You might even be able to turn it on/off or set behaviors (aggressive, patrol, defend, etc) but that's obviously up to the devs.

From what I understand you can already do this via mods (as in someone already made one). I think the impetus was for color blind people. Might be part of the stock UI at launch, who knows.

Speaking of mods, it will be very interesting to see how 'open' they are to user developed mods. I really enjoyed the UI mini-game in WoW and dropped a lot of hours making it 'just right' but I would hate for another decursive debacle or for UI tweaks to be essentially required in order to be competitive (which for a long time it was in WoW, at least as a healer)

Hope to get into beta next time it starts up. FFXIV just doesn't do it for me. Gameplay is just too slow.
