Well, hopefully something is done soon. It's bad level 35 and up. Has Carbine stated anything yet? I know they're aware of the problem and have been banning in waves, but I wonder if they have a more permanent solution in mind?
Cougar made an announcement in game today that they had banned a large number today.

So, free month is almost up. How is populations looking during peak times?
Had a little under 40 online in the guild yesterday during prime time. Streaming has had roughly the same number of viewers. Normally this is the part of the month where I see at least 50-60% of people stop logging in and the conversation starts to tilt towards how MMO subs are evil. Fairly confident they'll still be a drop but it's nowhere near close to the ones that recent MMOs have had largely due to CREDD + new content patch already incoming. It won't ever touch WoW numbers but it's going to continue to be a successful sub based MMO for the foreseeable future.

hrm. yeah. game is way too "hardcore" for my playtimes. Completely failed to even come close to the 3-7 plat, for a CREDD. Just canceled, any reoccurring.
Like the game as said, but don't remotely have enough time to play the game enough, to really take part in anything.
Hit level 41 yesterday for example. Was almost at 2 plat, but spent 50g on the riding skill yesterday too.
Could "MAYBE" sell everything.

Said it before. But again, I don't understand the CREDD business model. Why would you make the game free for only your most loyal customers? they are already loyal. Its the people on the fence you need to entice.
Its backwards from normal F2P.

This game is not F2P. Also, you clearly must not really like the game if you cannot find value in $15 per month.

Yeah, I am looking at the CREDD model more as,' I am going to get a free month every now and then' rather than 'I am going to use in game cash to play for free'. I just suck at playing markets and don't have the time to devote to hardcore cash farming. Sooner or later I will get a Trigger Fingers or something to sell for enough to get a CREDD, but other than that, I'll pay the 15 bucks a couple of months and when I have the spare plat, I will cash in for 30 days.

not at all. pretty clearly said.
I obviously don't have enough free time to really enjoy or make the most of that sub fee.

lets see. /played 3days, 7 hours, in 1 month. 2.5 ave hours/day. And frankly, was pushing to play that much, because I knew I was on the clock. normal playtimes would be even less.

I think you missed his point. Wildstar is unofficially F2P for its most loyal players because it is simple for them to acquire enough plat thru playing the game to purchase a CREDD from someone. In other subscription based games, your loyal players are a constant source of monthly revenue. In Wildstar Carbine won't be getting much, if any, revenue from them.

I'm in the same exact situation. I think its a high quality game and I had fun with the combat, the two level 20 dungeons and the two adventures I ran. I think the difficulty of the PVE in this game is good for the entire genre.

Unfortunately my playtime is limited to 1 hour chunks at a time and there is no way I will be able to do anything in the elder game without getting a divorce.

CREDD doesn't magically form out of the ether. Someone bought that month whether it was the poopsocker or dude who just wants a quick influx of plat for the 1-2 months they're playing.
Exactly, I dunno what crack rescorla is on, but iirc credd is actually $20, so they make more money from it then if the person paid a sub.

PLus they get the money instead of the gold farmers. You also have the added benifit of your raiding guilds playing for free and promoting the game with you tube videos and twitch streaming.

Ummm, I was just explaining Caliane's point . The game is essentially F2P to the loyal players who can accumulate lots of plat and purchase CREDD. Whether the CREDD system ends up generating extra revenue for Carbine is not relevant to that point.

Us MMO players are really fucking stupid when it comes to these things. It's $15!

I certainly see a ton of value in this game. Well worth my measly $15 a month. I'm about three weeks behind the gang due to travel. But I am excited to start tanking more and even leveling up my Spellslinger. The housing is fun. Combat is fun. Updates are quick and transparent. Really couldn't have asked for anything more from my first MMO in 6 years.

yeah. standard F2P works like the whale or tentpole system. Like used by movies, casino's, etc.

now, casino's DO give out crazy free shit to their whales in an attempt to draw them from other casino's. But thats effectively elder teir shit. not free subs. ok, granted would be free subs too..
But in mmo's the free sub is the barrier for entry.
Imagine a Casino with a 20$ entrance fee. HEEEEEELLLL, no. There might be higher clubs in the casino with members fees, where in, again the whales totally get that fee waived. but your standard player does not pay any fees.
In fact, they get free or $3 breakfast buffets, they get cheap drinks, cheap/free entertainment, etc.
The casino does not give a fuck if you walk in, play $5, and then get free concert tickets, and meals and shit. The guy dropping $4 million pays for everyone.

F2p games do the same thing, usually. The "hardcore" guy off the SUB, is now spending $100/month.. or possibly more. Meanwhile the casual people are playing for free.

So, I don't understand the CREDD system. Who is buying it? The cost of CREDD is pretty cheap ingame plat for the time, for any invested player. I have no idea who the hell is paying $20 for 7 plat...
And then, why is it designed to remove the barrier of entry to the game, solely for those most invested in it already? what sense is that from a business point of view?

Why is Credd so fucking confusing? Casuals and people that want more gold buy the Credd. People who don't want to pay a sub and play a lot buy the Credd from players. If you are willing to pay $19.99 for Credd then you sure the fuck don't care about that 15 buck sub. Casuals buy gold way more then the Hardcore. That housing shit is a fucking gold mine.
