Wet sanding oil finishes is a great technique to get a very smooth finished surface. The fine particles fill the grain nicely.

Current project. Working on a lemonade stand for my daughter and the neighbor kids. I'm doing blue and yellow on alternating panels.
I used some build plans, but I suspect I'll be adding a few more pieces once all the side and roof panels get put on.

I dunno. She's going to have to sell 50 gallons of lemonade just to pay for the stand.

Yea dude. Like $400 in lumber.

Don't worry, we'll be learning lessons about profit and debt after the first day.

Don't forget taxes. The son of my niece sold lemonaide in a busy area a few years ago. Someone coming home form work paid with a $100/bill and didn't want change. My sister said she was going to introduce him to taxes and take part of it lol.

I thought the waterlox countertop turned out quite well. I still need to do the backsplash. Thanks for the advice.

came close to buying this, but talked myself out of it as didn't need another project. the clamps were frozen but the thumb screws moved. apparently there are some rollers in there, guess that would be the gamble.

did some reading, having the correct rulers and stops can take this from being worth $50 to $200+. they wanted $25 for it.

I am pretty positive my dad built 2 airplanes on this exact model of saw.

$150. I forgot how awesome belt drive saws are. It's like a suppressor for your wood shop.

I'm rebuilding my workbench and I'm super pumped about how well I got the shitty Home Depot stud lumber to square up.

This thing will outlive the apocalypse

Remember I built a lectern? Mahogany and all that… turned out great.

Then, one day…

During transport…

Not very woodworking - but its finish related.

This if RMP pure Tung oil dark half pine. Tung oil and pine solvent mix w/ darkening resin. It did exactly what I wanted and is an easy to apply. This is 1 coat, I most likely will do only 1 more as it’s essentially the shade I wanted.

Looks good. I like tung oil a lot. It's just really easy to apply and gives a nice look when used on the right woods.

Just found out the rear of my table saw fence moves about an eighth of an inch.

While ripping.

Always a fun discovery to make. My old Ryobi's fence wouldn't always be square, but at least it stayed fucking put. The front of fence is rock solid, didn't even cross my mind to go punch the back.

I have a decades old craftsman table saw that belonged to my grandfather. It still works fine but the fence is pretty shit. I've been threatening for years to replace it with a Biesemeyer or something similar but I don't really use it for precise work enough to justify the $500.

Was initially wondering how the fuck I had that much room between the fence and the blade after the cut, then I tapped the rear of the fence and got my answer.
