5-1 who would've believed it?! Just got back from the city. I think most were a bit anxious before the game and after that penalty that got Spain to 1-0 you could really feel an "oh it's gonna be one of those games again..." kind of atmosphere. But after the equalizer the enthusiasm set in and everybody was just ecstatic in the second half. Good times!

Yeah the last 15 minutes have just been Chileans falling over like bowling pins every time the Aussies touch em. Ridiculous.

Such a fantastic effort from the boys, especially after going 2-0 down, but hard not to feel hard done by and that we deserved something from the game

2-2 would have been more in line with what happened during the match than 3-1, but this is what it is.

As for the chilean players falling, they must be on average 25kg lighter than the australian players (apparently this is also the team with the lowest average height in the competition) so it would be a bit pointless for them to try not to fall!

I would hope that at the highest competitive tier of a global athletic competition, that the athletes might have some incentive to not fall over.

It's not like boxing with weight categories: a light and short player cannot win a shoulder to shoulder contest with a tall and heavy player, so they let themselves fly and often they get a call in their favor, that's plenty of incentive right there. They make the best of a bad match-up.

When a whole team of light and short players meet a whole team of tall and heavy players, you'll see a lot of that unless the light team is retarded or very naive (see: chinese or north korean national teams).
