World of Warcraft: Current Year

In the Shadowlands Alpha stuff is there any indication as to what they plan to do vis-a-vis the giant sword that impaled Azeroth? Is everyone just supposed to go trapsing off into the plane of the afterlife and just conveniently forget about the whole Azerite / dying planet / whatever?

They said it will be addressed further in shadowlands, but they say a lot of things so we'll see.

The sword is actually Sargeras' dong and Azeroth is pregnant.

To be specific - I've been thinking we should have been doing this for the last few years now with raids. Much less Mythic + or Visions. Ever since they made it so you could kill the same boss again, with no loot, on a different raid ID. I'm much more willing to grind content that is frustrating to do when I'm making an insane amount of gold for that 20 minutes to an hour or two. Especially when you can make arbitrary rules such as "Full Loot - Main Spec Only." Considering Heroic Raids usually sell for 450k-650k. Ive seen the mount add an extra 150-225k, and full loot add an extra 100k. So almost a million gold for a full run on just Heroic... Ive also seen the "faster" variation, where you you can just sell the carry for the last two or three bosses, giving achievement and/or mount for ~250k-400k. Ive seen where Maximums guild, Complexity Limit, (The poor mans Method) have been offering carries on Mythic, and I cant even imagine the difference in gold made if a full carry/loot/mount/chiev is bringing, on the high side, right at a million gold for Heroic . (To be fair, that guild spent Millions upon Millions of gold to be world first. Something like 257 Million Gold for the most recent raid.)

We took a group of people in Legion, that really didnt know each other and had normal down in less than a month. We were done with Heroic EN by the end of month two. (Granted several people, including myself, loved that raid. But I digress.) We spent 3-4 nights a week when we were wiping over and over on that content. Then when we had it down, we would be done with Heroic in half a night. Then we could carry Normal or Heroic, hell, even with alts, and make bank. Outright eliminating most of the need to grind herbs, and mine and all that BS that I would rather get a 6 month ban over than do. I mean.. if we have to grind something - at least make the grinding the most profitable per hour thing you can possibly do, right?

Been focusing on Ankoan and Rustbolt the last 2 days, which I now have at Honored, i'll get back to war campaign/Tiragarde/Stormsong this weekend.
Also, Champion of Azeroth emissary popped today, so that's nice.
Bought a Tortolan contract, only to realise I need to be at least friendly to use it, so I need to get to that too.
Edit : I also found the addon Tortollan Quest Chain Completion, which tracks and let you know of the various Tortollan quest chains you haven't completed. Beats waiting for their WQs.

You can find people that are doing their daily world quests and offer them gold to fly you around while the two of you do them, together. For instance, I'll put "Flying Escort - 5k Per Zone" inside of questing group finder. Most of the time, I wont even be really paying attention to the game. Gave me great encouragement to finish up revered with Zandalari, though. I didnt always respond to Voldun cause.. I just.. I dont know if I really care about Vulpera or not. I was super excited about making a Jungle American Inventor Paladin with the boost, and then I got that lame popup that "You'll lose the opportunity to get your lore specific armor if you boost this character." Which... I dont want to lose anything just because I boost a character. The boost costs $60 bucks by itself, so why the fk am I losing shit in the first place?!

On a more standard point, outside of profiting off others... Once you get Rustbolt and Ankoan up to revered - just go back to the zones you're missing standard rep in and just do the quest lines. My DK is damn near exalted with a couple standard reps just because I leveled him during this bonus event for leveling and rep. WoW, doing WoW things.. making me feel like all the time I spent doing it on other characters was invalidated by this new bonus they do at the end of expansions now as a retention tactic.

It's a good idea in theory but it's usually very difficult and time consuming to find buyers because most server clusters have A LOT of competition.

I sold a bunch of M+ runs at the beginning of BfA but it would take hours to find a buyer in some cases.

Yeah, Heritage armor has always been like that, need to level a character the old fashioned way to get it.

As for rep from zones, yeah, it's so easy. Got revered in Drustvar without even finishing the zone, so the other two should be a breeze also. Aside from flying, I really want to unlock dark iron dwarves and Kultirans too .

Ive seen a lot of adverts being ran by what.. I expect to be an Auto Macro running in the background, spamming the advert at timed intervals on a throw away account. With a second auto macro that just taps forward and backward every so often to keep from being logged off/afk. The advert simply directing you to a website, or to somewhere/someone on Discord. If I was doing them, it's very likely I would do that on a computer not associated with my network or other accounts. Work computer, for example.

If I was going to pay for a carry, it would be a raid. Mythic+ and Visions just seem so dumb to pay for as they are advertised, to get carried on. At least the raid, you're guaranteed a mount. I think the real disconnect with a lot of adverts is that sometimes, those adverts are just poorly thought out or the transaction is one sided in favor of the provider. A lot of people that actually do carries would probably look at it differently - but if what I'm spending in gold equates to roughly $100-$150 bucks for a carry through a raid, or $35 bucks for a carry through a mythic - it should be on my time. Make it a days advance notice or something, but telling me - "The price is 475k, we're running it only once tonight at 4am Eastern, your time - you in?" is a bit daft. Selling a Mythic + 15 for 150k and making no guarantee of getting loot is short sighted. Offer an upsell for an additional Mythic carry for a small amount more if the customer never got a piece of loot. (You and everyone you know that has played retail since Legion hates that f'n weekly chest). I honestly cant think of how you would improve the advert for Visions. If they have to have that many traits unlocked to get carried, then they are very likely running it ok themselves at that point. But I'm sure my idea of Visions is a bit clouded by my own success in there.

There are multiple communities setup for selling carries for gold only. The one I boost for runs the M+ when its good for the buyer. The buyer can purchase a number of addons to the base run, such as armor stack and specific key. Everything can be customized and all loot must be given to the carry except for corrupted pieces, which are optional. On the booster side, we have channels for the advertisers to post the sold runs, including the gold cut per booster, and boosters apply to run it. If chosen for the run, you must immediately be available to run the key. Any fucking around and you will be replaced and be assessed a 25k gold penalty for applying when you weren't available. Anything goes wrong on the run, loot cant be traded or key is depleted, the carry is given another run for free. The carry isnt expected to do anything; they may (and are sometimes told to) stay dead and afk at the entrance.

If you want to sell runs, join Gallywix. They literally set you up with buyers and take a cut.

yea gallywix is the premier boost group. they will also hunt you down and bitch if youre undercutting them.

we were selling runs early in the xpac but the cost isnt really worth it now. on illidan you have 40-50 advertisers at any given time a nzoth kill is about 100k now and you can get a full heroic clear for around 300k. i sell 5 mask carries for 100k usually.

I mean.. what do they do? Just message you and complain? Whats to stop you from just changing your character name and using a different online name.

As a goblin I want to piss off the entire gallywix community, because I want to be a real bottom of the barrel piece of shit scum goblin. Exactly where I belong. I'm not here to help people, I'm here to rip them off.

yea its not a big deal if they blacklist you, but they are a fairly large community lots of limit/fused/vodka/BDG players. if youre pushing keys in the 2.5k io range you may get turned down for groups. i like that its kinda a goblin mafia.

they are also responsible for Limits world first kill since they gave them like a 60-70million gold loan. they finally paid them back last month. limit was selling nzoth mounts for 15m last i checked.

It really is like having an ingame cartel, I fucking love it. I've posted about it a ton already here but it's like some black market banking system everyone in the top 10 of the world are using lmao.

Finally unlocked BFA flying, took a while but lined up well, last daily of mechagon xp got me revered, at the same time the Nazmir quest line got me revered with Tortollans(thing gave a massive 6k rep and it was only the main quest, tons of sidequests still up) and then I cleaned up all the story shit and unlocked both achievements together. Now on to Legion, mostly to make it easier to level alts until it's removed. I got Suramar and Highmountain done already since I needed them for allied races, but have to do everything else still.

Guess I'll remember that shit when people complain about Aether currents to unlock flying in FFXIV. Shit takes like 10mins per zone but god forbid sometimes you have to explore the map a bit to find the currents.

I'm starting to get there, Ankoan should be done today because an emissary popped (2nd time in 4 days, I'd rather have had another emissary), Rustbolt is coming along, just 3 more days of daily. I just have Tortollan lagging behind at 5k into Honored, even after having done all the quests though... Going to have to do all their stupid WQs in the next few days.

I'd never thought Champion of Azeroth would go so quickly though. I started getting quests to upgrade the base Essence, and the quests that brought you too Hyjal and the Maelstrom and it shot me to Revered before I knew it.
