Been getting some good laughs from the fucked up names and shit. Is blizzard leadership and employees still full of the same woke twisted commie fucks?

Does a bear shit in the woods despite bears only dropping their ass 15% of the time for your quest?

I tend to agree with this statement broadly. However there is a nano spec of hope that wow forever is/could be wow2 and they just gradually upgrade the engine.
This is 100% WoW2. The name Forever and giving themselves room to retcon everything makes that pretty clear

I agree with whoever said WoW: Forever will probably have a 30-60 day lifespan before the hype starts to die down/disappear. That's simply the cycle modern gaming has settled into.

This is all the industry is now: seasons, soft resets, classic servers, limited-time MTX designed around FOMO, battle passes, and other systems built around repeatedly bringing players back for another short burst of engagement and spending. It's increasingly being built for less long-term games and more for a series of carefully timed revenue spikes. Get an initial influx of players and money, ride it for 30-60 days, then start preparing the next content or monetization hook 3-12 months down the road.

And given how glacially slow Blizzard tends to move, there's essentially zero chance they'll have an "updated" TBC ready in anything resembling a reasonable timeframe. If the cycle follows the usual pattern, the sequence is pretty predictable: launch a nostalgia-fueled product for millennial manchildren who can't let go, capitalize on the initial hype and the influence of people like Asmongold, watch the playerbase and revenue inevitably decline, endure months of YouTube videos about how Blizzard is "ruining WoW again", and then announce "TBC Redux!" a year or two later when they need another shot of nostalgia-driven revenue.

Then the whole thing starts over - "This time it'll be different!" "WoW: Forever TBC is the future of Blizzard!". And we'll all apparently be shocked when it turns out to be the exact same cycle again..

Starcraft would have made a great DAOC like MMO. It boggles the mind they never tried it.

I also think a Diablo Souls game would be amazing too.
They have something cooking for Starcraft that will take nearly 4 years to complete. There's been hints that it is really big and ambitious.

This thread reads a lot like the pre-release Vanguard thread, except the people there hadn't already played Vanguard 20+ years ago.

I think the whole point of WoW Forever is that there never will be a TBC expansion (thank God).

None of these arguments has any basis in reality. Turtle WoW had a robust population for YEARS despite only adding their college project level additions. Many of them were good and innovative but they were all amateur productions.

Ascension had a robust population for years. Even in their classic realms and these versions changed less than we're seeing here.

Doomers gonna Doom.

Turtle and Ascension were also free.
