Either way I don't really enjoy the MoP lore, i prefer the WOTLK lich king badass shit.
lore : mmog
plot : porn

Can't really complain about lore in a game where every day is groundhog day, the big bad guy respawns every week, and "the eternal struggle between two ancient enemies" is typically represented by 2 packs of mobs that respawn and fight each other in the same 20 foot radius for eternity, but aren't worth XP. Like porn you don't expect much of a plot, nor can you reasonably complain about lack of one, but hey if it is there and at least somewhat interesting consider it a bonus.

Interesting stories usually only happen if the environment can change (e.g. single player games or finite resource/territory games e.g. Eve) or by player interaction. WoW is a mostly static world and player interaction is mostly minimized. That's probably why just reading about Eve Online drama is more compelling than any Warcraft lore ever written. Now if only there was a game with the playability of WoW and the depth and freedom of Eve.

Meh. I miss the LK too but it hasn't been that bad. Reminds me of some of the more random stuff in Vanilla. For whatever reason, I think 6.0 is going to loreiffic.

Have they hinted at whatever ghostcrawler was talking about that was gonna rock our balls off and provide content forever in the 5.0 cycle yet?

^ That's what I was referring to. I thought it was supposed to be mentioned in 5.4...

No. But I think most can guess it...it's going to be some sort of content or level scaling to make all previous raids and dungeons work on an LFD/LFR level with VP and a bag of 0.2% chance of purp at the end. Oh and transmog gear. Maybe scaled but probably not unless they automated that somehow.

I could be wrong but I'd double down on that. Makes sense they'd steal that from gw2 IMO. Next xpac may be more public quest-like content.

Definitely something to do with scaling. They already have the tech in place for challenge modes (and I think bg's?) so they can apply it to dungeons and wazoooooooooooo heroic hogger ilvl 600 weapons

If the procs/passives/on use effects for the old stuff scales along with a beefed ilvl, that could result in some seriously powerful shit.

I think the next expac releases in February at latest. I'm betting against all logic though.
They still need to announce it at Blizzcon. Although they could announce it, and tell everyone during the opening ceremony "by the way, check your mailbox, you might have already gotten your beta invite which we started sending 30mn ago".

What? A couple new reputations every X months with dailies isn't content forever?

For someone that missed Ulduar, I think it was because I quit after Naxx, and I've never been in a raid that could kill all of ICC, and have never killed the new Ragnaros, scaled raids are a damn miracle. I can see all of the old content, and still make it useful to do.

Plus, it fixes a huge complaint that's been said every time a new expansion comes out, that all your work is useless, because the first green you get is better than pretty much top tier raid items.

Will be damn amazing!

I'll be unsubbing if they put in scaled raids without a way to do them solo as before, but without new rewards. To do it otherwise completely eliminates a very popular "feature" of the game that keeps a lot of people occupied. But since too many game designers really hate choice these days, I don't have much hope that they would do that.

You talking about soloing old dungeons for the transmog gear? just to get the look of it?

They wouldn't have put pets into all the TBC ones if they didn't expect you to still solo them.

I highly doubt there will be raid scaling.

I would not be surprised even though this is jumping the shark a bit but that this rebellion thing in 5.3 leads to no factions. It would be HUGE.

I can't swallow no factions at all...I see how the story is suggesting it so far. I just can't swallow it more than I can swallow the raid scaling, which has also been supported by recent developments in game tech.

I think there will be an "old" soloable version of raids and a scaled that gives VP, maybe re-skinned old sets, etc. Not sure how they'd handle DK/Monks other than maybe repopulate the tables with reskinned plate sets and leather sets. A reskinned judgement, cliche, but hells yes.

The only two things I can see the unannounced feature being is raid scaling, or player housing, and player housing is more of an expansion selling-point feature. Raid scaling is more likely as it goes hand-in-hand with their intent on doing "The great squish" with ilvls etc...

But, Blizzard does come out of left field with some pretty innovative shit at times, so it could be a completely new feature that we never thought of.

There's a lot pointing to the removal of factions or perhaps the ability to choose which one you want to belong to regardless of race. The whole point of Pandaria is about burying the hatchet between the two sides. The Pandarens were sort of the first step as you could choose sides and all the lore seems to be pointing to alliance + horde vs. Burning Crusade/Some other big bad conflict on the horizon. I'm just not sure if they'd fully walk away from the "factions", but it would qualify as "big".
