So if I'm reading that right only Assassination has access to Rupture and "Combat" only has access to SnD?

It does seem like they're getting away from a bunch of the buff/debuff/cooldown babysitting you have to do in WoD -- which is good to me

Assassination already has perma-SnD in WoD. They'll probably keep it that way or just change it to a passive with a different name.

To be fair, Illidan didn't consume the skull of Gul'Dan to conquer the world...he did it to save the world (everyone [read:youngsters] seems to think otherwise for some reason). He is and always will be a "whatever it takes" anti-hero. He only went into hiding to build his army after he attempted to take down the Lich King and failed. He was only imprisoned once again because his release from the warden prison was conditional, and he did not meet those conditions. Also night elves are unforgiving as fuck.

Illidan really was the most perfect anti-hero for me. He did a lot for the betterment of his people, it seemed super shitty but if he didn't things would be extremely worse. It's kind of sad in TBC they just made him a jerkass villain. I'm glad they're bringing him back.

RIP Fistweaving Gladiator Stance - Forums - World of Warcraft

Fistweaving (and Gladiator Stance) will not be joining us in Legion.

We love the fantasy that each of those "subspecs" promise, but leaving them as subspecs has proven to be problematic, making us unable to properly deliver on their fantasy. Trying to support two different playstyles within one spec restricts how much we can focus and bring out the strengths of either of them. We still love both of their concepts, however, and will look for opportunities to bring them back in the future.

Fistweaving in particular ended up being used mostly as a mana management tool to support Serpent Stance, instead of a damage/heal hybrid, which didn't support its fantasy well. While we recognize that the initial goal for Mistweaver Monk -- combining a ranged healer with a melee healing style -- attracted some people to the class, quite a few things have changed since then. Most importantly, there's been a huge shift away from smart heals in Warlords, which is continuing in Legion.

Mistweaver gameplay for most players was centered around their ranged healing spells, and our focus for the spec in 7.0 consists of reinforcing their unique array of healing tools and adding talents and artifact powers that support this style.
Bullshit. Fistweaving did what it had to do perfectly in MoP, offering lower throughput, but speeding up kills considerably. It was nerfed a bit in the damage department, but still useful during WoD. Cutting it is being just fucking lazy.

WarcraftDevs on Twitter:

We're experimenting with ways to show some debuffs (such as DoTs) on nameplates. Beta feedback will be invaluable!
Good news for DoT classes like my shadow priest. The less amount of addons I have to install / configure in between the months I play the better. That's honestly a huge turnoff for me sometimes - knowing that to be optimal I have to keep my addons configured.

I have a love/hate relationship with add-ons. I understand them and I get the purpose but things like DBM, IMO, really take away the spirit of playing an MMO. But unfortuantely since everyone has them installed you can't not play with them. I wish Blizzard actually gave more shits about their canned UI and closed off add-ons.

Considering how many people have DBM installed and still get hit with boss mechanics they have a literal visual timer for, it's kind of sad. I think in more recent years blizzard has done a good job with the boss themselves showing "some shit is about to go down and you should run", but I can't imagine how angry everyone would be if they just closed addons.

I'm sure its an unpopular opinion. But when I came back from WoW vanilla to WoD it felt like add-ons almost played the game for me.

My gut reaction is NO DON'T TAKE THEM AWAY but I think to games where addons aren't there (GW2) or not heavily used (LOTRO) and I really don't miss them.

I think they'd have to change their game a bit, as people pushing progression wouldn't be as on point and therefore the fight couldn't be as tightly tuned. And it'd really hurt for old content that didn't telegraph as obviously.
