Come on now... they release like 40 hours of new content once a year. They gate it to hide the fact that they aren't really keeping up their end of the bargain. And they do that because they can, because people eat it up anyway or make excuses for them and say ridiculous things like "It's a business, not a charity". They are operating in bad faith.

History suggests it is very hard to produce meaningful content in an expedited manner. No MMO has ever accomplished that feat. I'm not a fan of dailies and think a better system could be devised but you have to stretch out content somehow.
Well AC did it for many years, so... false.

Instead of raising the level cap to 110 maybe they could have focused the entire expansion on new end game content. I find them continually raising the level cap as wasted resources because they have to devote time to new leveling zones and fucking leveling I'm so sick of it.

People are hating on dailies, but WoD had no dailies and people talked about how bored they were.
That's because, in a WoW-type game, you need a clear objective that progresses something (your craft skill bar, your ilvl, your level, your faction, your gold pile, whatever).

I think that what people hated in early WoD isn't the lack of dailies. There were dailies, they were just disguised as daily respawns and cooldowns. Each and every work order is a disguised daily. The once-a-day mine and garden. The profession cooldowns. What people hated was that each and every of those happened in their private instance, with absolutely no world interaction, save for the one official daily (well two if you counted the pet battle, but this one was also within the garrison) and the daily heroic.

Legion is trying to shove everything back in the world without having you tied to the "head back to quest hub to turn in" syndrome that everyone hates. They could have constantly respawning missions, but those would cause two problems: if you want the objective to be achievable by casuals, but not be over by the hardcore within days, you need a quota system for the latter. And two, if you have enough objectives spawned that you think you can do "today", then you're going to do all of them, to the point of burnout. They've seen it with the pandaria dailies: they tried "no limits", and people would burn out themselves trying to do every single daily available.

(yes, people are incapable of disciplining themselves. Spoken as a former alcoholic, I know it's horribly hard to, and for most, the will isn't going to be there)
what is your idea for content that even the most casual players can stay busy with?
Content that you can find. The big problem, and it has been raised multiple times, over almost two decades now of MMORPGs, is that people can't be arsed to find their own objectives. A lot of them need the game to tell them what comes next. If there's nothing showing, they're a bit lost. Dailies offer a good way to put those objectives in front of the people.

The main problem of dailies is that they're not new. We've had dailies for almost a decade now, so we wish for some magical better form of daily content. That's why they're moving dailies from blue "!" quest hub to map; they're trying a new form of delivery for "today's content I might do".

TL;DR Dailies are a compromise. Not optimal, but better in general than most alternatives.

Okay apparently on twitter Wow dev confirmed with the 7.0 patch you will be getting a different crate from mission completes with the salvage yard. Existing boxes will NOT be effected so I will continue hording my boxes and then spew them open once the new wardrobe stuff is active.
Just interrupting the current "WoW sucks but I'll still pay them" squabbling for a quick PSA: They clarified that the new crates will still have the class transmog pieces, so no need to hoard boxes right now unless you want to collect green boe transmogs.

They need to go back to the 7x per week stuff. Especially for LFDerp. Let people dump their 700 valor in one day instead of having to log in every fucking day, because god forbid you have the flexibility to not log in once in a while.

I enjoy raiding. Right now it is the only reason I play.

Just throwing this out there: WoD has an amazing musical score. Best of all the expansions.
I'll agree, the music and the raiding of WoW was top notch in my opinion. Blizzard always nails music. I get so Nostalgic remembering the first time my druid entered Darnassus and the first track of this one started playing.

I like WoW as a game for the most part. I'm an altoholic and enjoy the leveling aspect of the game quite a bit.

I just really, really, really hate dailies.

I vaguely recall Ghostcrawler saying that when they did that in Cat the overall number of heroic dungeon runs went way down compared to when it was a daily valor reward. I assume that's probably why they haven't made it weekly again.

How does the champion a faction thing work in MoP? I would like to raise Klaxxi rep to make my archaeology farm faster if it makes it so I can do relatively quickly but I can't seem to find any good information on it. What are the "various activities" I get rep for while championing a faction?

Welp, doesn't matter anyway. I need exalted with The Lorewalkers not the Klaxxi.

I don't remember much broken content in Vanilla. Sure there were bugs like the MC raid lockouts where people would get ported to the wrong instance (even cross faction instances) but those were fixed relatively quickly and there weren't many bugs like that.

Shit balancing sure (Scholo/Strath "5" man instances at release, Druids being absolutely terrible in any spec, most classes having 3 specs but only one truly usable one, paladins being way fucking better than shamans, fear ward, etc) but I don't see how dailies fix any of those issues...

I'm honestly surprised anyone is defending dailies. I thought the overwhelming consensus was that they are one of the worst things Blizzard has ever introduced into gaming.
I realize this was quite a few posts ago, but...

Fucking seriously? You don't remember how broken the doors in BWL were? How broken Chromaggus was? None of this comes forward as being broken in Vanilla?

What fucking version of Vanilla did you play, because I remember how broken shit was when I was doing progression raiding.
