AQ40 is around the time they started to get a bit more complex and Naxx was, IMO, the birth of the "modern" WoW raid.

And yet I had to suffer people wiping to Vaelastrasz for days.

Preacher has good takes. He has never participated in Classic servers because he played Vanilla from day one through Cataclysm and remembered it fondly. But didn't want to play it again. Forever is fresh enough that it feels a lot better to play than original Vanilla and of course has lots more stuff to do.

The reason Prot Warriors couldn't hold threat is because once they got full armor / shield etc, they were rage starved. Master of Defense helps alieviate that along with other rage reducing talents for abilities.

This looks like the meta Prot Warrior build going into Beta. I don't think you'll have any issues with rage with it.

Not in raid anyway.

Raid mobs still got you enough rage to function rotating all your abilities without issues even in full naxx and aq gear.

The problem was dps warrior would BT for 4k off the rip and melee for 1k white hits while your shield slam hit for 600.

World buffs and gear creep were core to that issue, it created insane threat for dps warriors while you had zero scaling to any of your abilities as deep prot.

Hence why every warrior was playing fury arms or fury prot later on.

Source: raided high end hardcore classic for a couple years.
