It's something I wonder if they regret after all these years. "Real time" day / night was pretty neat back in the day, but there is something about the way EQ did it that just felt right.

Remember when they first added the extra weather effects way back in the day? Like the sandstorms in Tanaris. It looked so good. Felt like it just disappeared at some point though.

Always so needlessly antagonistic and wrong. EQ did it since 1999.

But the changes to lighting and weather are clearly inspired by what MnM is doing. In the same way the tents are inspired by TWoW and the mega server is inspired by Ascension.

It's a good thing i hope it becomes industry standard for open world games. It's a massive improvement on the same old same old we've had for the past 15-20 years.

The cycle time is 24 hours, so you have to really go full degen to see it change. Almost always night for me, I sleep alot during the day.

The sunrise in cow land was pretty good. I took an elf over and started from there. I even stayed in general chat for awhile. It was extremely low IQ but kinda charming.

I always thought they should adjust WoW's night/day cycle to be more like 23 or 22 hours long instead of 24, just so it would shift a little everyday and people who mostly play at the same hours would get to see some changes.
