It's been 4 fucking days. The vast, vast majority of players have not yet even hit 40 or even stepped foot inside Gnomeregan. Certainly not the players who would have been tempted to purchase gold for GDKP raids, they are still level 32 fucking around in STV. You wouldn't even begin to see a difference in demand for several weeks and then it wouldn't even begin to make a dent in actually botting for months.

Even the fucking autist Ossoi at least understands how businesses operate but let me spell it out for your sub room temperature IQ ass.

Where the fuck do you think the bots are going to go? WOTLK classic is dead as fuck and there is no demand there. retail is a different game entirely and has different challenges with botting. Vanilla classic has a single server population. The SOD player base dwarfs all others, probably combined at this point, and it's game that is easily bot-able and until 4 days ago, had no limit due to demand.

The bots will continue to build up inventory of gold to sell as the costs are already sunk, the accounts active and the logistics are already set up and running. As time goes on you will see if the GDKP ban is making a difference first by the selling price of gold on those sites, if the cost continues to sink due to lack of demand. Then, in how quickly the bot farms re-establish themselves after ban waves go out, etc.

I would not expect to see any difference in actually botting for at least several phases of gameplay, and that's only if Blizzard actually does anything to enforce the ban beyond just lip service. We've not even seen what, if anything, they are actually going to do. If they follow through and enforce it you will start to see less botting activity by phase 3 or 4 and I would expect blizzard to put up some info graphic by then showing numbers of impact of the GDKP ban, basically as justification for rolling it out in other products/servers.

I'm not really in favor of banning GDKP, but the idea that they'd change their policy on GDKP and the gold-botting industry would just evaporate is ridiculous. The gold farming industry has built up a ton of infrastructure, they're going to use it until their accounts are banned or the $$$ they can make isn't high enough. And with a new phase of SoD there is a lot for people to spend $$$ on in comparison to late phase 1.


It appears that Blizzard is using a multi-pronged attack to go after botting, which is the right choice. It must be more challenging than it sounds to detect illegitimate subscription purchases (since bots are allegedly using stolen credit cards to pay for subs) and botting behavior.

I'm not personally that bothered by botting, but I wouldn't mind rolling on a server with more restrictive policies meant to fight botting. Ex: requiring your account is fairly old or having a more substantial buy-in that can't be defrauded with stolen credit cards.

Not what I said at all you disingenuous piece of shit. My baseline at the moment is 3 packs in linear dungeons which delivers a ~12 minute clear and ended up being one level per hour if the DPS were good enough.

I'm doing it all on a PS5 controller sat on my sofa though, hate me for that lol.

Anyway do we need yet more pages of bitching about bots? Blizzard refuse to employ staff to ban them and will happily wreck the game for everyone else in an effort to remove them.

for context, we were discussing the recent release of the vanilla HC servers and how retarded they were, and blizzard had hinted about SoM2 servers and we were discussing what we would like to see.

I suggested a time locked progression server with 8 week phases, no world buffs, progressing through vanilla, tbc, and wotlk again over a 3 year period, basically a compressed re-release of the vanilla through wotlk classic servers to buy time for them to figure out what to do (or to just repeat that 3 year process with "some changes" each time to keep it fresh). I said i'd like permanent Joyous Journeys (50% xp buff) because nobody really wants to level again in classic, especially leveling alts, and that we all just paid indonesian gold farmers to level our alts in maraudon boost runs and 50% exp bonus would help alleviate that.

You argued that the leveling experience is the only reason people played classic and leveling 1-60 repeatedly on alts was classics primary appeal.

Now I don't think anyone predicted that the classic WoW team was going to pour as much time and resources or make as many changes in SoD as they ended up doing, I mean we all hoped for a real "Classic+" but I don't think anyone expected them to even try but yeah, what we ended up getting in SoD was way different than what we expected out of modern day blizzard.

However, back to my original idea for this season, other than my desire for no world buffs (at least they are level capping them as we go, maybe they will address all the end game ones at 60?), what we ended up getting is remarkably close to what I asked for. We even got the joyous journey buff for our alts on prior phase content. I think Phase 1 was too long for only lvl 25 cap and people ended up leveling more alts than they wanted just to pass the time. I know that I won't be leveling all my lvl 25s to lvl 40, ill probably focus on 2 or 3 and by next phase probably 2. Once we're at 60 and we see how the phase unlocks will go for raid content and what, if any changes are made to lvl 60 raids then ill probably have time to pick up some of my alts who will be sitting at lvl 25 and will get to level up with JJ buff.

So no you autistic fuckstick, what we got is in many ways far better than what I asked for, and if you think for a second the primary appeal of SoD is the slow leveling speed on a bunch of alts you are as delusional as you are autistic.

Just main tanked 4/6 of Gnomeregan and... urgh...

Endless trash corridors, tedious mechanics that are in every raid that DPS still can't do, long walks back, people who inexplicably don't answer ready checks, respawns...

People can't get gud because it takes so long between attempts. It's not fun and I'm probably not going to continue.

The encounters are significantly more difficult in FF14 and players can do the encounters because you respawn next to the boss snd go again.
