You look at Kenny Rogers in The Gambler video and realize he was more than a decade younger than you are now when he made it...

On a related note, Patrick Stewart was 47 when he started on TNG.

I thought about it after I said out loud 'WHAT THE FUCK' a lot and added you in an edit so you could join in.
Also I am 100% stealing the 'fuck you sandwich'

just to nitpick for a couple of weeks.

1759678765134.png

he was 46. he was born on July 13, 1940. Encounter at Farpoint was filmed from May 29 to Jun 25, 1987 and it first aired on Sep 28, 1987. He turned 47 while filming the 2nd episode. in show, Picard was 59 at the start and 65 at the end of TNG.

another thing about that time, when shows came out every year and had 20+ episodes. the first season or so for TNG, each episode had 1 week of filming, which expanded to 2 weeks later on. most times, the show aired about 2 months later.

My HS homeroom teacher, orchestra director, brought in the AV cart so we can watch the verdict. Anyone else saw it in school?

Yep, same deal. It was a history class and the prof thought it was important enough. I even lost a bet over the ruling.

When you rented movies from blockbuster, did you watch it like 3 times over 5 days? Now, I can't even watch the same movie every 2-3 years.

One time in college, a roommate rented Starship Troopers, never returned it, and it basically played for a year straight. People would turn the tv off, but not the vcr, so any time you turned the tv on, it was there waiting for you.
would you like to know more starship troopers GIF

I’m at roughly one movie per year. I don’t find anything new to be entertaining or worth my attention. As a kid, the same movie 2-5 times per day.

Well, I was in college at the time, but my HS would have been more likely to pull in the TV to watch the pope's visit.

Now, in Jr high, all the classes were in the library to watch the challenger explode. It's odd how long it took the teachers to regain their wits. I bet we watched the replay a dozen times before one of them herded us back off to our classrooms.
