I'm about to assemble the most powerful (and subsequently most expensive) computer I have ever assembled for home use. And I won't be installing a single game on it. (AI workstation/server system)

Miss the days of solitaire?

I've been pondering those options as well. Just strange that in the past it was always "When the wife or I need a better gaming rig, the old system becomes the hand me down to my home lab" and if I build s rig for this that direction will now reverse.... Possibly the AMD, or an Nvidia Spark box.

People who refuse colonoscopy over the prep really drive me insane and it happens all the fucking time
Maybe the prep is worse for some than others? It was like 2 really nasty diarrheas for me and then some feeling like I needed to go but couldn’t for a few hours, then nothing more, not a big deal. Could depend on how much you carry in your colon (and what you eat) at any given time.

The stool DNA tests are reasonably good at detecting current cancer cells, but aren't good at detecting precancerous polyps.

Kind of the same issue. It's good at detecting what's already there, but not polyps. These things can be good between scopes, but shouldn't replace them.
Agreed, you gotta do the colonoscopy.

I've been a big fan of the poop in a box method which my Dr is OK with so far. But considering my kidney tumor adventure last year I fully expect that will change with this next go around.

I saw this one and was curious, but since I'm not 3+ years clear from the kidney thing I can leverage it yet. Seems like the same class of test as the Galleri.

Just follow the instructions you get. 2-3 days of diet restrictions and lots of laxatives. Take a nap for an hour. Have the best fucking meal you have eaten in years.

Seems quite similar will just depend on the library of cancer dna they screen your blood for.

Going to have cataract surgery next week. Everything has become like a fog.
Get them shined while you're at it.

You are way ahead of the usual lazy fuck parents who just sit on their phone while their kids scamper off. Your kids will remember how you were a good parent, always having fun with you, and won't complain as much when it's their turn to change YOUR diapers :p

/salute

My parenting method is to say yes no matter what the kid asks, unless it's dangerous or will spoil them (no candy bars at checkout etc). She is currently microwaving eggs with names written on them with the neighbor kid trying to get them to hatch.

Nice of you to say, definitely need to do better in the participation department in general. The trampoline was as much for me as them 😄 Used to be able to flip all over the f’n place having been a competitive gymnast as a kid.
