unfortunately, it's our testosterone levels that prevent us from growing longer beards. (Except the injun, they're just mutants).

My beard stops at about 1.5-2 inch… its makes no sense… I guess I have limited retirement options now.. no blacksmith, no brewmaster…
No Mall Santa...

Wish I could grow one period. I can easily go 2 weeks between shaves.
I couldn't even grow a goatee until I was in my late 20's. Late 30's before I could get everything to connect into a decent beard.... But I've caught up.

56 bro it's not happening. My brother has a 'beard' that looks like an unshaved pussy on his jaw.

I don't have a long beard, but it's 100% white now. I've always had facial hair but having to shave it off to get into some facilities I never really grew it real long. My dad made a big deal and had an award for winning a beard contest in 1976 which was one of the bicentenial deals. Not for me.

Same here. Even now it has to be at least an inch or longer or it looks thin and scruffy. A barber totally fucked me once because I asked him to trim it and he just put on a half inch comb and shaved it. Took me a good 6 weeks to get it looking decent again. It keeps getting longer though. I didn't know it just stopped at a certain length for some people. I keep it like 2.5" though, never gone for the full Santa Clause look.

On another aspect of getting old, my right knee has been injured 3 times in my life. I had surgery on it when I was 21 and it's always bothered me a little since then but this spring I was limping on it really badly, to the point where I was avoiding stairs and such. Went to the ortho doc and he gave me some steroid that only lasted a week that just totally cleared it up and made it feel amazing and then Celebrex for maintenance after that. Pretty much as soon as the steroid wore off, it was back to normal and I was limping around again. Last week he gave me a cortisone shot and the knee feels like new again. I know it's a temporary solution and I'm headed for more surgery or maybe a knee replacement down the road but it's amazing being pain free for the time being.
