One could argue that w/ limited ability to carry a shit load of weapons, a crowbar would double as a break in device, however crude of a weapon Gordon thinks the crowbar is, it is not ideal for massive zombie extinction. Soon that crowbar will be covered in rotting zombie guts from the many whacks to the head. Eventually those guts will run down to your hands, and eventually seep into your hand and you'll start losing grip on the crowbar, even having it slip away.

While a bat is built to destroy. A long textured grip and a knob at the end, ensure that this weapon of destruction stays with you when you are knee deep in zombie guts.
