    Hokum (2026)

Damian McCarthy is auto-watch at this point. It will be interesting to see what imagery carries over into this. So far the bell from Oddity and the bunny theme from Caveat that had already carried over into Oddity

    Pluribus

You assertion is the correct one based on Gilligan's past writing style applied to this show. The hive putting on a show for the audience either reveals something crazy about the nature of the show's world or it is terrible writing as everything has been legitimately, hamfistedly, diegetic up to...

    Keeper (2025)

Visually and tonally this was another great entry from Perkins. The classic "unseen until it's seen" for the actual horror elements is tried and true for a reason and it works incredibly well here. I had a love/hate relationship with Maslany's performance up until things started going and then...

    Mr. K (2025)

It's not amazing but I liked it, it's fun levels of weird. It's like a pseudo Fellini movie but without any giant Italian tits

The Resurrected is such a great Lovecraftian adaptation and it's kind of been lost, or was for a while. I had to seriously dig around to watch it 4 or 5 years ago and I think the only thing I could find was an old VHS and some VHS rips on YouTube but good to see that i's actually on a streaming...

    When Evil Lurks (2023)

This guy's previous film is great as well but this really upped his game. Spanish/Latin horror achieved this weird next level over the past few years, it's some dark stuff and they do it incredibly well.

    The Banished (2024)

The Red King has all of the makings of a great folk horror but the main character is just so grating without earning anything. I'm going to watch through to the end but she has probably made something that could have been casually rewatchable every now and then into something that I'm struggling...

    The Painted (2024)

This movie opens up with a full bush succubus and doesn't disappoint from there. It's a pleasantly bad horror movie that takes itself much too seriously and that ends up being the perfect combination for what you're getting. The sfx with the paintings are actually great in this, surprisingly great.

    The Conjuring Series

The Wes Anderson'esque slow motion scene with Van Morrison playing didn't do this one any favors except for telegraphing that, hopefully, this remains the last one.

    Jimmy and Stiggs (2025)

I liked Bliss and VFW but this was just a really difficult watch. Not on the horror level of something like When Evil Lurks where it was such a well done and disturbing movie that it was difficult to watch, this movie was the celluloid equivalent of cocaine, phrenetics dialed up to maximum...

All the Devils Are Here (2025)

This specific story needs to stop being told, it's been done into the ground
