    When Evil Lurks (2023)

This guy's previous film is great as well but this really upped his game. Spanish/Latin horror achieved this weird next level over the past few years, it's some dark stuff and they do it incredibly well.

    The Banished (2024)

The Red King has all of the makings of a great folk horror but the main character is just so grating without earning anything. I'm going to watch through to the end but she has probably made something that could have been casually rewatchable every now and then into something that I'm struggling...

    The Painted (2024)

This movie opens up with a full bush succubus and doesn't disappoint from there. It's a pleasantly bad horror movie that takes itself much too seriously and that ends up being the perfect combination for what you're getting. The sfx with the paintings are actually great in this, surprisingly great.

    The Conjuring Series

The Wes Anderson'esque slow motion scene with Van Morrison playing didn't do this one any favors except for telegraphing that, hopefully, this remains the last one.

    Jimmy and Stiggs (2025)

I liked Bliss and VFW but this was just a really difficult watch. Not on the horror level of something like When Evil Lurks where it was such a well done and disturbing movie that it was difficult to watch, this movie was the celluloid equivalent of cocaine, phrenetics dialed up to maximum...

All the Devils Are Here (2025)

This specific story needs to stop being told, it's been done into the ground

    Warhammer 40k

Welp, not so fast on those grotesques sir, they've been removed from the codex along with Urien Rakarth

    Weapons (2025)

It does an incredible job conveying information to the viewer with images, which should just be the role of a movie but that trait has fallen by the wayside as we ventured further into spectacle movie making. Don't cross the salt, why don't you cross the salt, the movie shows you why. The scene...

    Warhammer 40k

From 10th I think that my Drukhari army was the most fun, new combat patrol looks nice but they still need a ton or work to be up to date with everyone else

    Rimworld

I think that Anomaly has been my favorite DLC, it just completely changed how I'd go about setting things up and daily life and the ever present threat of having "The Thing" amongst my colonists gave everything a much crazier atmosphere. Odyssey looks like it'll pan out to be pretty fun and the...

    The Phoenician Scheme

It's as if Wes Anderson has forgotten how to make a Wes Anderson film. This is the worst movie that I've seen this year. Del Toro and the main girl were awful, feels like he's really forcing the "matter of fact" drab delivery that added some melancholic sympathy to a lot of his earlier, wealthy...

    Bring Her Back

These guys have a knack for doing incredibly difficult to watch self mutilation scenes. Decent film but not anywhere near as good as Talk to Me. I kind of feel like they've run out of gas after this since their stories all revolve around the same topics and themes and this was just a worse...

    The Righteous Gemstones

If you're not a fan of McBride then it's not going to get much better for you. I'm a huge fan of his and this last season was terrible, I always think that he does a good job portraying terrible people and doing somewhat of a redemption arc with them even if they fuck up again and have to...
