So the Big Mom arc seems like it just wrapped up. I have to say it was pretty crazy overall and Luffy didn't even get to go toe to toe with a Yonko. Given how strong they have built up Big Mom and how tough the fight with her son it seems like the crew still needs some power ups. It seems like Luffy has the future Haki now which is honestly op level shit.
I am ready to catch up with the rest of the crew, I still don't like how they have been so split lately although I am sure from a story telling perspective it's easier with less characters at once. I am also wondering how easy it's gonna be for Jimbes crew and the Germa to bounce. It would seem like the Big Mom fleet could catch them easy enough.

Dogtooth is likely top 5 fighter outside of Yonko. Luffy didn't convincingly beat Dogtooth, so he's still a ways off, though Luffy also didn't awaken his devil fruit this fight either. That's most likely his next upgrade. Pretty sad Sanji didn't get an upgrade this arc (since this is supposedly HIS arc), and Zoro is most likely the one getting an upgrade in strength next arc.

Dogtooth was one of the better fights have they had in a while. As for Luffy awaking his fruit I can't even imagine what that's going to be like honestly. Although with the way they have set up Haki it seems to trump all devil fruit if you are strong enough. Gol D Roger, Shanks and Raleigh come to mind of people without devil fruits that are among the strongest in One Piece.
I feel like Blackbeard is going to be the ultimate big bad at the end though and even though his crew seems decent they haven't been shown anywhere near the level of what Big Mom's fleet put on.

So Pedro actually died? Isnt that the first time a character outside of the backstory flashbacks and Ace/WB was actually killed? Wonder if he is finally going to move away from noone ever dying in this story, even when they pull a self sacrifice thing (lol bird guy from alabasta).

There are actually quite a few deaths in one piece. Start with Shanks crewmate point blanking that guy in the face in Luffys village. Arlong capping Bellemare in the dome. That weird cat guy in Usopps arc killed his whole crew and if I recall he was killed. Zoro killed like 100 at whisky peak. Donflamngo killed Moria. I mean the list goes on and on. Many people killed on and off screen, and many are just heavily implied. There aren't many who fight with the straw hats that die but there have been a few like Bon Clay was implied he died.
