Man when ever I read what you guys are doing in this game all I think is. Wtf am I doing wrong lol. I'm 88 and I've made maybe 450c so far which includes my 1ex drop.
Yeah as Korrupt said, 88 isn't that far, you start getting a lot more money in higher tiers of maps and there's quite a bit of time to get there still, nowadays 85 is pretty quick and easy. It's the first time I'm playing much, I'm only 92.5 and it still moves at a decent pace, but like past 95 it becomes stupid I think. I've made like, 800c I think? That and a couple of exalts, one from fusings and one from some jewel. Not that much but I don't sell much, nor do I flip or anything, I only care about having enough to buy my stuff, doesn't even have to be the best stuff. I made it to 92 with less than 50c worth of gear without much of an issue.

Glad I jumped the gun and bought "overpriced" exalts yesterday at 135-138 instead of 130 to buy my Vis Mortis, considering how quickly that jumped. Even got lucky and as I refreshed the page to start messaging people selling at 6ex, some guy logged in with a 5.5 ex one. Granted they're now at around that too, but in chaos it's not quite the same.

By far the most expensive thing I've ever owned. Didn't get fucked by RNG and rolled my 4R2B in 2 rolls too, so that saved me a lot of chroms.

Reading this thread makes me think I can't play this game effectively as a few-hours-a-week casual...

I think it depends on your goals? I've been playing the past leagues really only a few hours. I do stack them over a few days instead of weeks, but still I was fine doing that. It's the first league in forever I'm actually playing a lot, largely because 1) I found a build I really like that's also fun to play(I really liked AW a few leagues ago, but it wears you down, all the fucking clicking and carrying weapons ugh) 2) I set a specific goal, killing shaper(and possibly uber elder we'll see). Last time I played that much was during on of the challenge leagues, the one that rewarded that gear set they kept giving away back in the old days with the spikes and wings and shit, and they had a red one for the HC race. Had to reach 85 or 90 in HC for it, and that was back when you farmed to 70 in docks or whatever. I even died half a level before it and had to reroll, that was fucking great.

You can fairly easily get the 24 challenges rewards for example playing pretty casually over several weeks. But if you want to see the endgame, it is definitely a substantial investment, especially when you're not super efficient like the top tier players are. Like you watch the people who race for 100 and they're on a while another planet, they're farming maps by the first day. I checked Raiz' stream to see how he did maps at the start of the league when I reached maps myself since I hadn't done maps since the atlas shit basically, and like 5hours in(from the start of the league) he was complaining he couldn't get his Humility cards to drop, that he was too high lvl for acqueducts and not getting good xp(he was like 80+) and that he was so behind everyone else cause he wasn't mapping already. Meanwhile 5hours in I'm generally killing Kitava the first time. And I still kinda speed along, just not nearly as much.

That said if you play the whole 3months of a league, I'd assume you could still reach endgame even with very casual play. Alternatively you could keep going once you're moved to standard.

Maybe Ex peaked. Was 150 for a short while this morning and down to 145 again. We'll see. Sucky part kinda waiting to see which direction it goes before I spend much now.

Anyone have a really solid knowledge of what it takes to overcome ele reflect with leech? I'm using CI (~8400ES), Zealot's Oath, and Vaal Pact, but my only leech is 0.92% from my chest. I can survive if I pulse my Molten Strike and only let the balls hit 5-6 things at a time. I'm pretty sure if I tried to clear an incursion I'd die instantly though. That's with Yugul, but no -reflect passives from the tree.

What I'm wondering is, would a Watcher's Eye with -45% or so reflect damage on it fix the problem, since I already run Purity of Elements full time? My 'perfect' Watcher's Eye will have Discipline - ES on hit on it, but I'm not sure if that would be enough, and it's going to be a long damn time before I can afford a jewel with both Discipline and Clarity - Mana Res->ES on it, let alone one with Wrath too. I don't like having mods I can't run at all. No regen is a nuisance but I can get around it, no leech is a flat NO until I get that Discipline Watcher's Eye, and I need to do something about reflect besides just sell the map.

It depends on your definition of "effectively". I'm not at all happy with the amount of progress I've made in 100+ hours since the league started and I've been playing the game since beta.

The larger problem with only playing a few hours a week is that PoE is all about the leagues, and I think it would be really frustrating to barely scratch the surface before the league starts to wind down and it's time to get ready for the next one. You could play standard, but... fuck standard.

I got lucky on a Tornado Shot vaal that bumped it to 21/20. I'm still without my 6L Queen, so selling the gem would allow me to buy that. Reading the wiki, replacing it with a 20/20 only drops the damage by 1%, so it seems 100% worth it, no? Or is 1% really going to make that big of a difference?

Nope, that 1% is what you spend your money on eventually. The main thing in this game is getting all the links and supports you need first and then optimizing from there.

They were talking finishing Windripper prophecy in chat. I feel bad. Half an hour later after asking what the item was they were looking for went to. I didn't know anything about it. I had gotten some prophecies a while back for no reason and had no idea what they were. Did vault and boom, prophecy finished. No idea what it was but saw I had a bow drop. I'm on a MF roll this league. Bisco's and now this. It's very rare for me to get anything larger than 10c to sell (unless it's an exalt).

Overcoming ele reflect with anything other than immunity to it isnt a thing. Eventually your damage done will outscale any type of recovery you can get due to gear or just a big pack of enemies.

I run the physical reflect with my elementalist since she does no physical damage, otherwise I reroll them. I could run them pretty well when I had VP before the nerf.

Is VP even worth it? A lot of builds seem to recommend it, but I specced out of it when I ran Uber Lab and I honestly haven't missed it.

I think it depends on how much leech you have and how much defenses you have and things like that? If you're tanky and have increased leech rate via uniques/passives/ascendency, it might not make much of a difference, but if you're squishy you want to regen instantly because if you get hit again you're dead or whatever.

I run everything with my summoner so that's a plus. The only annoying one is no regen, because I'm using a Divine Distillate as my "mana" flask and shit gives like 170mana over 5secs, so I have to go slower, I guess I could switch to a real mana flask and not have the issue though. Everything else is pretty much a non factor, other than damage mods(minus max, crit and the actual damage) like any other build.

Oh VP doesn't give instant leech anymore, yeah nvm I don't pay enough attention to these changes.

Do you feel like your advancing more? That ring Fnex gave you back he was saying would sell for 5-10ex, just making sure you know that bud.

Yeah I bought it for 5 in the first place. I am probably offline the next week and a half so it will depreciate in value a bit.

I have most of my atlas done and faceroll everything that isn’t a boss with any mod at all except elemental reflect. Bosses as long as I plan ahead are easy also. Elder is the only thing I need more practice on because a few parts I suck at. His guardians I have done yellow and reds with ease.

why not just reroll reflect maps?
Well everyone (who did in depth comparisons for xp&loot/hr) on reddit was saying chisel+alch+vaal+sextant was the way to go by a huge margin, but it seems like every fucking time I vaal a map it ends up with one of the three mods that suck for me. There's nothing I can do about cannot leech, and cannot regen is doable but increases clear time by about a third and massively increases the chance of dying. I was just hoping I could at least do reflect maps if I had enough 'whatever' to overcome it.

VP is for slayers, that's it.
And CI.

Well I just found my first Exaulted Orb ever last night, logged on before work today for a couple min and got a 2nd one! I think i'll buy a Kaom's, that should give my RF build a good lift.
