Yeah basically developers send nvidia the final game, and then nvidia adds DLSS. Supposedly for free. (Until it takes off) and then expect nvidia to jack the developers.

Actually right now IS the perfect time to buy depending on your resolution. 1440p (Hell even some 4k) 1080ti. It's just as good as a 2080 being released today and you won't see any improvements for a few years. And I would even argue at this point a 1080ti at 1440p would be good for the next ten years at this rate with common denominator development with consoles. 1200p? 1080 gtx. 1080p 1070.

With that said I am still on a 2500k with 8 gb and a 1070 EVGA FTW. I am able to hit 60 FPS in 1440p in Witcher 3 max...

I have yet to see anything to change my mind about waiting for a good deal on a 1080ti. After that I'll wait for Nvidia's next generation of some actual competition to show up.

Dude, all this talk about the 1080ti, as if it's the end all be all of computing performance. It's not. nVidia really has no competition right now. I can still play everything I want to on an AMD 480 right now. And that's two generations ago as far as AMD goes.

Only speed freeks and wanna be harckerz bois need those 300 FPS in CS:GO. Pro players don't play at anything higher than like 720, so they definitely don't need it.

Everybody just needs to calm the fuck down when it comes to this "1080 ti or nothin'" type talk.

"I don't need it so therefor it's not that great" is your argument?

I was just playing Prey @ 4k on my 1080ti and was getting a smooth 60 fps. A 480 would have struggled to keep 30 fps. Different people have different use-cases.

I mean, I can show you GPU's that cost 4x as much but have worse performance in games. But I can bet you don't care about them. You only care about squeezing the extra 30 FPS out of CS:GO.
