My new ride.
Marij THC FX34 V20

stock is around 579,561 block(crank[knob]) horsepower(BCKHP) twisting around 9000 foot kilometers(f/km) of torque(even came with a wrench)

of COURSE i totally modded it with the new Grouper 6.92(v.56)Header fuel lines and overdrove the system ratio to about .003 so just double all the first numbers and you are about 1/2(0.5) to where I'm sitting with this baby.

I was going to shave the blast ports but I went full tilt and got the Brazilian. For you non-car types that basically means the horses in horsepower are now rhinos so i am rocking Rhinopower(protip) straight through the wheels and INTO THE TIRES. Yeah thats right.

Some of the other mods
  • Added a 256k torque cache so all my torques stay torqued
  • replaced the RattleSnack12 core-bore shifter to a full double-fisted tranny(post-op with all the extas)
  • molded a new front and rear slip-dip double tip to be hip with the drip(44xvt's to the warp center so it stays within ballast range)
  • i disabled the brakes..fuck em
  • Roast vegetables at 450º F. for 30 minutes, removing garlic when browned and soft, 10 to 15 minutes. Top eggplant slices with polenta slices and cheese. Squeeze garlic from cloves; mix garlic and beans into tomato mixture. Return both pans to oven and roast 10 minutes longer.
  • carved out the center die-cast pig-irons(KLbt.03's) and duel-wielded a spork enticer with bicarbonates (had to import these from Japan) so I get that extra pep through the turns
  • green

Got a recall notice on my Z71 today. Indicator light for the passanger airbag. Not sure I have ever looked to see if it is on or not, don't have a passenger in that truck often. They'll send me another notice later when they have the stuff to fix it, but it doesn't impact the safety of the truck. Then why send it to begin with?

We have a Triton at work and got a recal letter, just informing us that that the drivers side air bag will have to be replaced and they will contact us when they are ready.
I think it's just a heads up that it'll need to be fixed, they send a letter because they don't want millions of people suing them

Need some advice from the re2 bros. I am going to be changing jobs next month. I will be covering a large territory and doing a lot of driving (50k+ a year possibly.) I could also potentially be driving into jobsites in rural areas, as well as entertaing customers that might be perceived as "good ol boys;" utility contractors.

I will be getting a gas card, so mpg doesn't really matter to me. I have been looking at pickups, primarily the F150, 1500, and the Sierra. I am liking the Ford, it has the most cabin room, and our family of 4 will be using it as the family vehicle. However I am not sold on it. I have only driven an F150, neither of the other two. A couple buddies have Tundras, and while decent, I don't feel it is a good fit for my needs. The cabin is a bit small and overall the thing is just massive compared to the other makes. Def not trying to roll up to a customer's office looking like I spent a shitload on a truck, would probably be a bad first impression.

Anyone have experence putting a lot of miles on a truck and can comment which is the best combo of comfort, style, and durability? Price range probably tops out around $50k, with a little wiggle room.

I usually test drive the cars I'm interested in first and then narrow it down to one or two and then read forums to find out what the common issues are.

Buying a car without ever driving it is just crazy to me, I know a lot of women that do that shit or buy the first vehicle they test drive. It could literally be the worst of of the bunch.

EDIT: Also, dealership buying tip. Go in and test drive the vehicle you like and if you're really interested leave with the internet sales email. Then just haggle with them via email, that way you're not stuck at the dealership all day and get to a point where you just don't give a fuck and want to leave. Plus fuck wasting your entire day there.

I've done this several times, I'll just email them the price I'm willing to pay and refuse to negotiate. They cave every time after a few days, and if the really want you to buy it they'll sometimes give you a 0% apr in house financing.

Morale of the story, fight the battle on your turf, not theirs.

I don't know a whole lot about trucks, hopefully someone can chime in to give you some direction.

None. Sorry.

If you're interested in a certain make/model, just research that via owner's forums. Mass media sites are garbage. If you're interested in a certain segment of car and don't know what exactly, just ask here.

Also, to piggy-back on what Heko said; go into a dealership knowing what you want and not listening to anything they say. Almost nothing from a sales reps' mouth is the truth. If there's a car you saw, that you want to buy, start with 10%. As a rule of thumb, that's near enough to invoice pricing. Don't ever say you have a budget, either monthly or all-in. That's just ammo for them to use against you. YOU need to know that, but they don't. Anyway, ask here, we have the info.

I'm not a truck bro, but I do know which manufacturers are generally more reliable, comfortable, and have better materials. I'd order it: F150, Ram, Silverado. Chevy used to be a better vehicle than Dodge, but not recently. A quad cab F150 might be your best bet. I actually road in one a week ago and I was impressed. Very comfortable inside. Plenty of room. Four wheel drive with a full bed. The EcoBoost V6 is a stout engine with decent mileage (for a truck). Any of the V8s will suck a lot of gas. The only thing I can't give you advice on, is the durability of "trucks" with that many miles per year, especially if the terrain is tough. But, I know we do have several truck owners here, who can chime in.

I purchased probably about $2million in pick up trucks for my company we used Ford for a long time keeping detailed records on maintenance, in 2007 we switched to Toyota Tundra's and had incredible success far more than I was even looking for. The majority of the Tundra pickups ran to 200,000 miles without a single mechanical failure and employees overwhelmingly found the ride more comfortable. Having said that I think both Ford and Chevy have come a long way in recent years in quality and are putting out really good options and Toyota is slow to move, the Tundra is now the lagger in a lot of features.

But I wanted to address the customer part of it, depending on what part of the country you will be traveling to do not buy a Toyota. I'm not exaggerating, places like Michigan you will lose business with people if you pull up in a Toyota, they are zealots in this regard. Southern rural areas it doesn't seem to matter to the same extent but the upper midwest it really does.

I was going to mention this, it used to be the typical dodge/ford/GM triad and the others hated the others - now they kinda are all ganged up on any truck that's not American (company- that is, as I believe the Tundra and titan are actually more % made in America than the "American" ones lol)

however there are also people where you need to spy on them and then bring the truck brand that 80+% of them use, talking point over beers etc. its business!

last I was in Michigan was talking to a 40 yr union GM worker discussing the fact his vehicle was built in Mexico and mine in Alabama and he didn't care a hoot, they blame Toyota for "ruining everything" and I could tell there was nothing every going to change his mind.

So I've never bought new in my life.

Does 0% APR mean I don't pay interest on the purchase??

Yes, that's what it means if it's 0% APR throughout the entire term of the loan.
