You truly don"t understand what "pointless" means then. And THEN you acknowledge a second "point." /boggled

Splok, sources are simple. Despite the fact that you like to simply pull numbers out of your ass, it is beyiond debate that half the servers are pvp. It is also deyond debate that many of those pvp servers are HIGH population (simply do a check, easy enough). It is also beyond debate that the...

Hardly pointless. Had two points which you obviously missed. Frist, PVP is the draw to the game, not PVE. So if you want to dethrone WOW don"t go straight pve or you wind up niche. And second point was we were talking about twinking, where I was arguing that pve twinking is ok, but pvp twinking...

Rezz no one said WOW isn"t both. The point is that the PVP is the real draw. If wow was solely pve you know darn well it would never have drawn the sub numbers. Why you say the focus is on pve is beyond me. First about HALF the servers are pvp. Second alot play on the pve servers TO PVP (via BGs...

How many are doing MC now or AQ? ;p
  6. M

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

Of course it isn"t. Half the servers are pvp servers. The other servers are carebear pvp games. You honestly think WOW would have anywhere near the subs it does if it was a completely pve game? Plus you miss the whole point of the topic regarding twinking. You can"t argue PVE twinking is ok and...

That"s generally what they do do. WoW is basically the exception and I would classify it more as a pvp game than a pve game for discussion purposes.

End there. In a pve game it is fine, in a pvp game it hurts.
  9. M

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

In a PVE game perhaps. In a pvp game ain"t alot of fun for the "normal" recipient getting bashed on by supertwink.

And that has always been the problem. Wasting time looking for those groups, or probably more importantly, finding those NEEDED classes. Original EQ, pre Kunark you really could do any of the content with ANY group combination, well aside from the 2 dragon zones. But now we pretty much see the...

Well if you want a "Cheers" MMO you can, it just won"t have mass appeal. EQ was fine for it"s time. Can be nostalgic all you want, but guess what you aren"t going to play it again. Or if you did, the charm would wear off fast. To me the end game is the toughest part more than anything...

Biggest advantages of instancing is that it helps cut down on lag by limiting the number of people in the "zone" and helps cut down on fighting over spawns. Over use of instancing can, however, kill any real "feel" for the world.

It really depends on what your goals are in the end for the game. Skill based would be great if you want that single character per account basically. You develop that one character as detailed as possible. Problem is as the game gets older it is harder for new people to catch up. With class...

That was really by accident actually. It nas not intended as a pvp game until people noticed that the magic spells they cast hurt other players as well as the monters heheh.

Well in some of the older DnD games like AOL NWN, and DSO, you had dual classes and tri-classes. With level caps at 15, it went 15/14 and 15/14/14. The pures were non-existent in those games.

People in all honesty, do you think Clemens took steroids or HGH? This isn"t a criminal proceeding. Your belief is all that matters here. Can"t be slander or libel either, he is a public figure. Feel free to answer. Yes or no. As for me I think yes, same with Bonds, same with others. I don"t...

Take him to court for what? I am no expert on drug laws, but if what he used wasn"t obtained or possessed in violation of any federal, state or local law then there is no crime. It would fall under the baseball collective bargaining agreement, which is a civil matter. Perhaps if he perjured...

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

I wish people would stop confusing burdens of proof. In a criminal proceeding it is basically "beyond a reasonable doubt." In a civil proceeding it is basically a "more likely than not" standard. Eyewitness testimony is not generally hearsay. Eyewitness testimony can be and often is sufficent...

Well that depends where in the game you are at now. I certainly read all the quest texts when I did and still do them for the first time. I pretty much stopped on alt 2+, but at that point I have a different agenda for those alts, with questing being more a thing of speeding leveling and making...

You hear people complain about the so called "fed ex" quests, but I never had a problem with them. It was better than just straight grinding and it moved me along. Chain quests can be more frustrating since sometimes you get to the point of screaming "when the hell does this end already." One...

You do know what anonymous means right? It means no one knows who the hell you are as an actual human being, aside from your typing letters on websites. I don"t care if you don"t like Salvatore"s works, it just irked me when you started with the character attacks.
  23. M

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

God this pain"s me to say, but Twobit is right. Keep your burger analogy, since this isn"t comparable. That is YOUR opinion that somehow Salvatore is the McDonald"s hamburger, others feel he is sirloin steak I suppose. No problem with stating your personal opinion, but twisting it into some kind...

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

Whether you liked his novels or not is personal. But I"d back him any day of the week over anonymous bloggers like you or Agraza. Time, of course, will tell. But Agraza throwing terms like "I don"t respect" a person because he didn"t like Salvatore"s novels, is ignorant at best.
  25. M

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

Agraza stfu already. Maybe Curt feels compelled not to call you a dumbfuck, but I sure as hell have no problem. Fine you don"t like an author"s novels for whatever personal reasons you might have. That"s a personal choice ONLY, and publishing companies certainly disagree with your retarded...

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

Nah, I really don"t care what anonymous people think about me. You are just typed letters on a message board in the end. Just tired of you spamming every dam thread by pulling crap out of your ass.(like you really have a clue what the developer"s costs would even be). At least Utnayan stayed...

Then that decision is up to the developer. Seriously go back to spamming VG threads with your utter crap.

The biggest problem you are going to have is balancing that gear when you create a pve/pvp game. Yeah there is skill, but gear is always > than all.
  32. M

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

Maybe, but I still think it is a good idea. Console games will generate funds, and create a "name" recognition, something I was arguing earlier in this thread. Maybe SOMEONE finally listened to me ;p I do agree that 2010 might be an early date but then again better game tools out there now than...

Reticent to say this, but I think Brad even said they were always amazed at the ingenuity of the players.
  34. M

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

Nah, Twobit is right on that point. These games are always pretty combat centric. PvP certainly is by definition, and certainly leveling and PVE raiding. Not saying you can"t do other things, but it is all about the combat in the end. Why do you think many harp against this whole "needed" class...
  35. M

Green Monster Games - Curt Schilling

Maybe but you and twobit got out of hand on this. Really is no reason for both to post so many times over 1 issue.

"The best"? That is totally subjective concerning MMO"s. But the "most Popular by leaps and bounds" kind of tells you what the bulk of the market is looking for. And as for the insane debate over 27 classes for game X is the same as 9 classes with 3 specs, guys comeon, math is the math. They...

Oh please NWN had exactly what many want, a community (especially off the message boards), and truly skill based pvp. Yeah it was corney in graphics, but the pvp was the best, just will never be repeated. People were paying $300 monthly phone bills just to play it.
