Yeah man this right here is perfect to start. IMO: Reaper Learn to Paint I set cheap synthetics: and Rosemary and Co series 33 or a Raphael 8404 size 2 and size 1 from AMZ: Pot of Nuln Oil: Plenty to start with. Just paint up the 3 in the set, follow the book that comes with it. Good to go...

Yeah that dragon above is metal and so is the Roman Guardsman above. Once it's primed (I love stynylrez primer), acrylics are no problem.

Arrived yesterday from Spain. I love purple, but I feel like the red looks more Roman.

Yeah i'm really new to Warhammer, so my only experience is the last year or so. This Redemptor Dreadnaught is really impressive to me. The arms move, hand rotates, the little turrets on the chest move, the middle opens up. You get a choice of guns on both arms. You can do it in a dynamic...

I had my camera out today testing backdrops. This black is pretty good actually. A random assortment of some of my minis throughout the past year or so.

Still working on this guy, and building a mech.

Very early WIP but I am excited about 2 new colors I used for the parchment on this guy. Vallejo English Uniform base and Citadel Karak Stone highlight. Looks good so far compared to my previous efforts will see what the end result is 👌

How do any of you handle Magic Weapons in your campaigns? I'm running Descent into Avernus and the party needs some stuff. My options are: Withhold everything and make them buy Silvered weapons. Let them spend their gold on simple +1 weapons and armor in Baldurs Gate or Candlekeep, with the...

Dang they are big. I have the Adult White dragon and this one looks much bigger. Actually the body is very similar size, but the wings on the new one are really large and spread out further. You can see a size comp at 2:08 here:

Yeah man definitely post Tyranids. I'd like to see them for sure. WIP or finished, whatever you want. I'm in a phase where I'm just casually painting for fun right now. Not really planning much just sitting down and doing whatever feels right at the moment.

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

This game is pretty generous on heals and not dying. Mostly 5e stuff. Healing spells, abilities like second wind, potions, short rest, long rest, the game has a "Help" system if a player is down. To really die you'd need a TPK or a situation where someone is bleeding out and the rest of the...

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

Thats too funny I was just at that part last night. I did something similar but not there and didn't die. I jumped down fairly far, took damage and fell prone. I love it. Actions have consequences.

I'm just barely into the game but I'm digging it so far.

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

I'm going for the early access. Hardcore for me might be like 3 hours a night at this point. 25 hours or so of gameplay is a good enough chunk to justify playing it.

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

Anyone else hyped for this. I haven't played a PC game in a while. or any game really. I have a GeForce GTX 1080. Its 3 years old at this point but I think it should still do the job yeah? I know it's above minimum spec or even recommended but I'd like it to run smoothly with at least some...

Never used any of these but the names I see pop up frequently are Army Case and Feldherr https://www.army-case.com/

I'm starting to convert over to Tamiya through the airbrush. I also like citadel contrast paints through it. This is my favorite white scar vid, I'm going to give it a shot soon probably:

Haha I am the worst at mold lines. Worst. And I've gotten better at it, but still havent closed the gap to the second worst guy.

The mech was 55 and the tank was 85 so $140 for them. Direct from GW they would be real close to 200 with tax though. Yah all plastic. I still havent opened them yet but I'm hoping it's not crazy to put together.

That Storm Giant model is awesome. How big is it? I got another Blade Guard done, the guy in the back with the red helmet. Still really enjoying this Indomitus box. I built one of the bikes today and a Lieutenant. Still have one more Blade Guard to do though first.

Those vents on the bottom look fantastic. I finished another Aggressor and I'm practicing some of the non-painting things that I never do well. Decals and my picture taking abilities.

That sucks, from Amazon or where? They may all be in high demand lately. I never had a problem with the Raphael but all my Winsor Newtons were shitty from Amazon. Highly recommend Rosemary and Co series 33 straight from them in the UK.

Hah I like those dudes. I literally smear citadel technical paint on my base and paint over it with some kind of contrast paint. Maybe a tuft, skull or rock and I'm done. I've been playing with the pigments lately though, those are kinda fun.

    Miniature Painting

Yeah i typically wait til last. Especially with these as you can just pop them on and off. This isn't even glued together yet just push fit. But my bases are really super simple. I might feel otherwise if they were complicated.

    Miniature Painting

Even the base level units are really good in the new box. More details, great poses, different from the previous models but enough similarity for a great look in an army. I'm not a chain sword fan but they are growing on me. I did this guy pretty quick but I'm happy with the look for the time...

Definitely throw it up there and see if people grab it. I like that design. I think I'd use those side hooks the most to hold my brushes. Along those lines I had a custom paint rack made up. I really struggled to find something decent that held a lot and wasn't wall mounted.

    Miniature Painting

That;s awesome. I love that long seal trailing off the sword like that. Very cool
  35. Dashel

    Miniature Painting

Ok here is this guy as he stands now. One of my favorite models to date. Sword and Shield but 40k tech. I may yet change his helmet to white. He's still not glued together. I'm going to do a second one with a white helmet and see if it makes a difference. Then the 3rd will be the Sergeant...

Those look epic. Nice job yet again and love the colors. Yeah that skeleton in goo is awesome. I really need to do something like that at one point. My bases are very basic. I like that dragon too, he looks kinda like the Spawn demon things.
  37. Dashel

    Miniature Painting

Yeah I'm planning bright green but I do have bright orange if it comes to that. And lots of Necron warriors to try new stuff on.
  38. Dashel

    Miniature Painting

Just a simple metallic base through the airbrush to get this guy going. I'm digging the steel color as opposed to the dull copper I've been seeing. He looks like a Terminator.

Indomitus #1 is close to complete. I love these models.

Yah I think it might be this vid: Does look really good. I basically did that just not with pink, more of a red/brown. Maybe I'll try what he did next. Hmm.
