    Camelot Unchained MMO

I feel like you need semi-persistant worlds, 100+ simultaneous players and semi-persistant characters in them to be called an MMO. Semi-persistant meaning the worlds stay up in their state for at least a week.

I wouldn't mind seeing some alpha vs release DAoC screenshots. My perception right now is that the placeholder art in alphas are generally what we get at release.

Question: Let's say you're a baker and bake a simple chocolate cake with no lettering. What if someone came to your store and said, "I need this cake to celebrate my commitment to Satan." or, "I need this cake to commemorate pooping in people's chimneys." or, "I want to use this cake for a party...

    Camelot Unchained MMO

I don't think this is as unfair a question as some others, but it's impossible to answer concisely without a lot of information about you and what you like in MMOs. Since it'd take less time for you to learn about this MMO as it would for us to learn about you, you may as well just go read about...

Basing it off CF ideas makes the articles built on ideas you don't really know the truth of and are subject to change though. There's real meat and truth in previous games and the people involved. Imagine doing a biopsy of the history of telegraphs in gaming. Up to you though, since you're doing...

Okay, here's something I think would be interesting, challenging, a contribution to CF's development and engaging to the larger CF community. It's much more work than just sitting around with a bunch of nerds and jerking off to hopium, and it requires a lot more knowledge of the gamesphere. But...

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

Never looked at ruby or groovy, but is this performance comparison apt? /var/log/mind One of the common sins in software development is worrying about performance when you don't need to, but man, groovy/ruby having an order or two of magnitude higher run time is enough for me to never want...

    House of Cards

There'd be no way to coherently do this now, but it'd be interesting if the show was set up differently such that as Frank was working up the political food chain to the POTUS, Claire was working up the chain as well where she goes from the non-profit to state senator, to Governor and then when...

I watched some of the podcast. I hate the module release system SC has. If they have enough capital to make a full game, don't release it until then. I don't want the game to be old and the community tired of it by the time it's "released". I feel the same way about super long betas like PoE...

I think the extent of which the trading system needs to be streamlined will depend on the complexity of the itemization and crafting system. Since they're making noise about it being similar to SWG I think we can assume a fairly complex system. In which case the more streamlined it is the better...

In what situations do we deny service to people because of who they are? I was loose with my language so when I said, 'no group may be fucked in this country' (which is totally false of course, all groups are fucked in different ways) I meant 'no group may be denied service to'.

    Equal Pay for Equal Work?

Literally speaking, you're worth what someone will pay you. When I graduated and got my first job I thought that number was too high. When I got my second job I thought that number was too low. Right now I feel it's about right. In a more figurative sense you're worth what you can find...

    Equal Pay for Equal Work?

Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian's new CRPG in the vein of Baldur's Gate

Vague question: In my last playthrough of BG1/2, I found that the somewhat archaic inventory system was a chore to work through. I spent more time dealing with inventory management and clicking on inventory / merchant screens than I am comfortable with. Does PoEternity have the same problem?
