I did my whole upstairs in vinyl plank a year ago. I like it. Easy to work with, looks nice, and it doesn't matter if it gets wet. I haven't had much scratching either even though my dogs track in lots of dirt and gravel. I'm very happy with it.

I built my own risers for my washer and dryer out of 2x4s and painted them dark brown to match the flooring in the laundry room. Much cheaper than the drawers from the manufacturer and they're just the right size to slide the laundry baskets under.

I don't know if it ever freezes where you are but if so you don't want the wet sharpener out in the garage. Even if the reservoir is dry the stone could break if it freezes. It's a pretty foolproof way to sharpen knives though.

I would not say that a burger cooked on a gas grill is the same as one cooked in a pan. Charcoal does give you a flavor that's different than anything else though.
