    Guild Wars 2

When GW2 launched they had 270 employees. That's about where they are now after the layoffs. It sounds like NCsoft wants them to focus on GW2 and not the "unannounced projects". So all these pronouncements of doom and gloom are a bit premature. It does suck for the people let go though.

    Guild Wars 2

Aye, GW2 isn't going away. It still makes a bunch of money for Ncsoft and is one of the big 4 in terms of popularity (with FFXIV, ESO and WoW). They just were not making enough dollars to justify the 400 plus employees they had. Apparently most of the layoffs were for unannounced projects...

    Guild Wars 2

It isn't good. But GW2 is one of the few decent AAA mmos around and is still popular, unlike Wildstar. So they won't be closing shop. But expect a lot more store options and less content. Like Cynical said, NCSoft doesn't have time for underperformers and is ruthless about it. I suspect that...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

Heheh. You are dealing with some seriously damaged people here. Expecting them to self reflect on their obsession with Brad is expecting the impossible. Just laugh at their key stone cops idiocy. It isn't going to change. The falling gifs are fun though, so they aren't totally useless.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Thinking about getting back into this. To anyone on Gilgamesh, is it still packed? With Queues? Thought there was an exodus off that server a while back.

Living in Eastern Europe on a Budget

Did the pirate thing when I was young and broke. But I hated having to do that, and really didn't like the "karma" (overused but correct). As soon as my income jumped I went back a bought all the stuff I originally lifted. It wasn't cheap. Games weren't too bad but Photoshop and 3d Studio...

    Guild Wars 2

Each game mode (PvE, PvP and WvW) has it's own legendary armor. Different skins, same stats. WvW legendary armor only requires that you play WvW (a lot) and a bunch of mats that can be bought / crafted or picked up from WvW tracks. No need to raid or do dungeons. PvE legendary requires...

    Guild Wars 2

If you play WvW then look into Legendary Armor. It's a hella grind, but doable. Start with the Triumphant Armor track (exotic). Each piece you unlock allows you to buy an ascended piece (same slot), and you can choose the stats. The ascended piece is used to make the Legendary piece once you...

    Destiny 2 - Clan Link 1st Post

Agree with most of that. The main thing Activision wants is the yearly releases for DLC's etc. That kind of schedule is very tough on creators trying to make quality decisions. And with modern graphics it's and incredible amount of work. Plus the microtransaction thing is most certainly a big...

    Guild Wars 2

HoT ended up being the go to for map event farming, along with Silverwastes. PoF has the bounty run trains I think. For now, I generally only WvW if I'm playing so don't know all the PvE favorites atm. GW2 is a casual game, pretty face roll in general PvE. It's raiding and fractals that get the...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

Yeah, they can definitely fix things. People are still invested in their toons, even if they aren't playing WoW atm. It's really a matter of time. The longer they take to fix things, the less people will care about coming back. And they still have tons of players subbed that don't seem to be...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

People not wanting to lose their investment is a huge reason mmo's keep going like the energizer bunny. WoW has millions of people invested in their toons. It takes a serious fuck up to lose those players. BFA is definitely that fuck up. Will be interesting to see what they do to get those...

Tried water cooling first on this system but it wasn't as quiet as I was expecting. Sent it back and got the Noctuas. Damn fine fans. Never had a problem with them and very quiet. Cool colors would be nice, got the ugly browns. Next system.

OC'd my setup a while back. But ended up turning it off. Didn't really need the power and the fans were abit too annoying. Built this system to be quiet and I like it. The Noctuas are great but even they can be heard at high rpms. I know you were trolling but whatever.

    Crowfall

Yeah, not a solo friendly game at all. Most pvp mmos have that problem though. Not sure how you can fix it. Hope somebody figures it out. Group pvp play is hella fun, but it's hard to maintain a group with only a few hours to play a week and real life commitments.

Death of a Game - Everquest franchise

Agree. If done right a mmo that allowed you to play your alts in a team or just play one toon would be great. EQ with their heroes kind of does that already and GW1 did it well. First with henchmen and then with actual heroes you could gear up. The change to that I would like to see would be...

The first quote was a reference to Moore's law which was usually quoted as 18 months (but was actually 2 years). Moore's Law If you are generally asking a question, I'll try to explain my meaning. But if you are just nitpicking because you don't want to listen then that's your issue and you are...

new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 cards released

Easy rule. If you attack me I'll attack back. Will skip it this time. I did build a new maching every 18 months or so for most of the 90's and early 2000's. That is on me, I wanted the absolute best at all times and moore's law was in effect. I could afford it and enjoyed the process.

new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 cards released

Yes and no. More power always helps, no doubt. But to understand where I'm coming from remember that even up to a decade ago we would have to build a new machine every 18 months just to be able to run the games, let alone max them out. And that was true all the way back to the late 80's. Have...

I run 3 screens a 7680x1440, Nvidia Surround on games that support it. Can maintain 60 fps with max settings at that res even on most new games. Although the fans start cranking with games like Battlefield V, etc. Strix 980's in sli and Samsung 850 Pro ssds. Keeping it to 60 fps has a lot to do...
