True this. I have a friend of a friend who has created some pretty big mods for Skyrim. The guy just locks himself away doing this. I couldn't even tell you if he actually plays Skyrim that much, just loves to mod it.

I tried last night on the normal Test server and as soon as I got to character creation, stuff was on lock out (one race and one class), so I am going to assume it's not totally unrestricted like EQ. Might just play through on a normal server for a bit I guess.

What's the deal with EQ2's Test server? Can I play without restrictions ala EQ? I wouldn't mind running through the content once more seeing as I haven't played in years.

It was very optional, in so much as it wasn't even in the game. If memory serves, you had to run a separate executable to get into the tutorial. I think it was the tutorial executable people used to use to walk around empty zones from EQ - they worked out a way of loading up zone data into it...

That's kinda sad to see that aspect just die out :/ I quit in PoP and that was factionless from what I remember.

Loved this aspect of EQ. I remember seeing 3 trolls killing guards outside of Freeport for the first time and was like, wow - those guys are evil! On a side note, do the modern EQ expansions use factions and faction based cities much?

I think an important point to make is that if any of these unintended actions were found today in a modern MMO (EQ now included), they would be patched out within days. What was so unique back then, was that they did nothing about them for years. Whole expansions came & went with these issues...

It's stock assets so it's not going to look good, that's not the point of the shot. The guy is just demonstrating the fact he knows how to use Unity to some degree. Given higher quality art assets, things would look a lot better.

Whilst the site makes no comment of Brad's fuck up in all of this, the comments soon sort that out. I really can't see how he is going to escape from this and the game is not going to go anywhere with just him and his cult of amateur developers.

Yeah, over here rather than having certain stuff refused on the NHS (although there are certain ops/procedures that are not covered on the NHS), you just get put on a waiting list which can stretch to 18 months+ if it is not a life threatening condition.
