That's weird, I just assumed you'd be able to play S42 simultaneously with all the other stuff. Whatever, it doesn't really matter. It sounds like S42 will only take a few days to play through.

    Boxing

This is the super fight of this generation, but with this timing it's hard to get excited about this. Pacquaio hasn't stopped a fight in 5 years, and Floyd is arguably the best defensive boxer of all time. Grimmlokk is correct, this has all the makings of a snoozer. If this was a few years ago...

Bill Gates Says AI Will Be As Dangerous as Nukes

Who says? I'm not a biologist or psychologist, but isn't care just cognition wrapped around a basic chemical reward/punishment system? If we develop an AI with cognition, there's no reason we can't attach it to a similar reward/punishment system.

Mist, stop shitting up this thread and pretending you're a female. Jefflys already did the "I'm a dude pretending to be a woman and I also have fear of rape" routine. I work in robotics and automation. Progress is slow in this field and is severely limited by cost. Driverless cars are here...

Those of us who played Minecraft know what people can do if they get their hands on a lot of obsidian. For those that don't, obsidian takes a ton of time to destroy and damages your pickaxe. If you go to someone's yard and drop 50 obsidian in it, that obsidian is now a permanent fixture to their...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

I was thinking about scientific dogma earlier. Because it's difficult to prove with 100% certainty the how and why of complex systems in our universe, the human penchant for having a dogmatic and stubborn attachment to our own beliefs can be important because it adds diverse paths to the pursuit...

I think it'd be more about spec groups or sub groups attacking a target simultaneously. All depends on the game mechanics though. Often the most critical spells in large scale PvP are the ones that developers don't anticipate being prominent.

Yeah there's definitely some uncanny valley action on the robotic legs that are just way too similar to human legs for comfort. Their newest one, Robot Dog is really cool and much more hm... graceful than previous entries. It also looks great with the HDL32. I can't wait to see these...

No I don't think so. Voxel is a bit of a nebulous and misused word. It's a combination of volume and pixel, and is sort of a 3d pixel. So a game like Minecraft which is made up of these blocks is thought of as the quintessential voxel game, but it actually doesn't use voxel rendering, it uses...

Don't be so quick to believe that. Creating art assets with a voxel based game is very non-trivial, even if all they're doing is creating a templates for a randomization engine. We'll see how it works out. I'm still envisioning there being a number of static landscapes being copied into multiple instances with different rulesets.
