Have they said at all what the beta groups means? My expectation is that beta would be a dirty word at this point and they won't want to associate beta with crowfall for another two years.

    Fallout 4

Coop is one of the major things Bethesda could do to make FO4 a hyped up title on its own merit instead of just the next Bethesda game.

Marriage and the Power of Divorce

Wife just had a kid, we want more but health wise doctors suggest not getting pregnant for 18 more months. We're struggling to decide what to do for contraception because we hate all the options. Pulling out worked for us for years though. I feel like that's the direction we'll go because we're...

    Fallout 4

I think part of FO1/2 feeling more gritty and dark was that it was a 2d turn based game with heavy constraints on the player. In FO3/NV the player is so free to do everything that the game can get silly at times.

    Fallout 4

Have to play with the mods that strip out a lot of the random looted ammo/water/food/stim packs/radx/radaway, and also add in hunger/water/sleep requirements along with radiation everywhere. It's not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with just jumping into the game and smashing fools...

Would be great if they did that and removed any UI indicator. I love the skill in being able to use twitch to determine accurate trajectories from short range grenade launchers in games like TF and Battlefield, and the spotter/operator pairs we'd have in GW2 when using trebuchets were awesome.

I definitely would not mind there being FF worlds.

FF is annoying and penalizes AE classes which are the heart of zerg-busting group specs. If you had FF zergs would just stack single target DPS classes. What you really need is large AE abilities with CC and no hit caps.

Don't care, don't trust Brian Williams in the first place. OR any other big name journalist on big news sites.

    Fallout 4

Yeah and I always allied with Mr. House in my playthroughs. There's just something special about being down to 40 bullets, 2 stim packs, 3 water and being irradiated and knowing that a given raider outpost has more supply but you're not sure if you have enough supply to kill. Or that the...

Bethesda plans its first ever press conference for E3 .. wtf

I liked FO3 better than NV because it was more desolate and serious, but either way Bethesda has more credibility than anyone in gaming to make an open world RPG.

You have two accounts? I'm in 6. I have to assume the beta group doesn't mean anything really. If they had a playable game and started having beta events it'd blow my mind.

Fallout is only fun in hellholes. NV had bountiful resources and I think the game was worse for it.

I'd argue for different protection for different sizes of bases. Let's assume an average player can mine 100g an hour without having any assets and not taking any risk. This is sort of the baseline where anytime a player isn't making at least 100g an hour or equivalent they're unhappy...

The other aspect that exacerbates this issue is that people are notoriously bad at counting enemy players. Sometimes we'll get a stream of enemy communication where they rate our numbers at 2x what they are. I come down on this pretty hard when I'm leading and a scout says, "50 reds at this...

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

I wouldn't. Another aspect to hiring is that if you hire someone who turns out to be a dud you get some egg on your face. The fewer check-boxes they checked during the hiring process the more embarrassing it is. If you hire someone with a degree from a reputable college and they don't know...

Electrical, not computer science. There's a few other issues like you say but in the automotive engineering sector almost everyone hired as an engineer has a degree.

Oh and just to reiterate what I said before, I played in Cyrodiil pretty hardcore in ESO for the first two months, so my experiences were contained within that time period and I don't know how it evolved afterward. I like the art style of the female templar too. So tired of exaggeratedly feminine characters and armor. Even as the person at the top directing strategy I agree. If this game is to be successful the majority of pvp needs to happen in the 3 - 15 player range. However, the most important battles...

I'm also down with the art style. At this point the first thing I look for in pre-alpha engines is, "Ok how is this going to handle 100v100v100 people at a time?".

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

This is an important point. A close person to me worked for a big company for 28 years. He started out as a technician working a line, then worked his way up to being a respected engineer. He lost his job during the automotive layoffs and now he is stymied because he doesn't have a degree.

    Soylent!

Disappointing that they aren't allowing press into their facility. That only gives us a reason to assume their process is still very amateur. $120 for food per month is really low. I feel like I personally eat more than $120 in steak a month! Do you just eat rice all day?

    Kenshi - A Sandbox RPG

Kenshi at its core will probably never support group tactics the way that M&B does. The group combat is more of a... wrapper around a dice roll than anything. I say this because as you guys have seen, two groups will basically choose their targets as evenly possible and engage in a sort of dance...
