PvP content is a lot easier to create for sandbox situations though. And a good PvP system can extend the life of the game far longer than a new PvE expansion. I hope EQN doesn't get too far from it's PvE roots, but having a robust PvP option is pretty important in todays market.

Pretty much. And if you add a mega-server to the mix then the need for cross server tools becomes moot. Imo it isn't lfg tools that killed community, it was the instanced dungeons that isolates everyone from the open world. Instancing then forced the creation of WoW type lfg tools to be invented.

Yes, but everyone else isn't like us. And whether we like it or not, LFG tools are expected by the modern mmo playerbase. Ignoring those expectations just hurts the business side of creating a succesful mmo. LFG tools don't hurt any game, but they do help.

It's true and you know it. I main tanked in a mid tier guild as a Sk, but it was old content. When I joined the top guild on the server only Wars were mt for the endgame content. You rotated Wars and when defensive went down, the next one took over. That was true in all endgame raiding guilds...

Then you were doing trivial content. All endgame raids had only Wars as mt. Sk's and Pals occassionally tanked trash, but for the Big Mob(s) it was only Wars because defensive was the only way any tank could survive.

Not in any real raid, trivialized content doesn't count. Warrior's defensive was too strong and that is why there were 8 wars to every sk/pal in most raids. Modern EQ is not the EQ anyone uses as a benchmark.

I didn't say anyting about stronger classes. SK's were never considered a stronger class. There was a benifit to being and ogre or troll if you were a tank. But it was minor and other races did just as well.
