The highest in that line, Odium, is worth upgrading. But Curse is worth getting a couple level ups on if you are actively using it until then. The damage on it is pretty nice. Any spell you are going to use for a decent stretch is. If you are doing d2 instances you should have a decent stockpile.

If you are targetting a specific mob then yeah, you would want respawning. If you want a good old fashioned dungeon crawl, nonrespawning is the way.
