No malice in this question: Why should anyone but long term EQ/EQ2 players care about EverQuest as a franchise and does Daybreak even view it as important?
EQN was rebooted multiple times and canned, which was effectively the last time EQ had its name in modern gaming news. EQ2 launched in 2004...
Congrats, you just spitballed another EQN that would fail so hard an entire team would be ran out of their office as the game is abruptly canceled. Also do you have a ponytail?
Just kidding, it's just some mobile game and you're definitely going to hate it.
Daybreak announces new investment, new H1Z1 and EverQuest mobile titles, and a new esports arena
THQ Nordiq is salvaging a shitload of cheap and forgotten IPs (Saints Row, Timesplitters, Darksiders). Maybe wants Daybreak gets done fucking around with EQ they can hand it over for a few dollars.
Glacial is the speed you work at without the budget to hire a team of devs. In 2002 or whenever this project started, I wouldn’t have believed anyone that told me it’d still be a project in 2018.
IDGAF I’m always going to root for EQ no matter how many failures because my nostalgia outweighs logic. I can accept that, now show me Grobb and fat, mouth-breathing trolls.
Those jobs are from two different studios at DBG: Austin and San Diego. A lot of the San Diego openings reference the "old-class IP."
Because speculation is stupid/fun, Daybreak San Diego is looking for an EQ Franchise Project Manager. In it, the following skills are a plus:
*Experience with...
I know it's default reaction to bring Brad's name into the conversation (and I'm sure it helps sell it for people not completely soured on him), but Pantheon being a success or failure is dependent on the people actually making the thing and they've hired quite a few new hands.
Yeah, I understand that. I want to see dollar amounts though because making an MMO ain't cheap and they're promising a lot. I want them to do good. I want anyone trying to make a decent amount to succeed. But I'll believe it when I see it and I damn sure won't hand over money until there's a...
That was not meant to be taken literally, just highlighting what a shit show EQN development was. I think I've heard that management is better there now and that some EQ project or another is in the works? That seems to line up with some of their hiring ads. Who the fuck knows what a new EQ even...
Yeah, honestly this transitioned from a terrible (and clearly fucked) joke thread into a fucking historic look back at some great EQ screens. I don't have any legit shots to offer which sucks.
If you're not gonna contribute get the fuck outta my thread, asshole. Now shut up and post some pics.
Just kidding, I love you. But seriously you can post pics.
