I don't know about this server, but on p1999, alchemy bags were the best imo. 8 slots, can hold large items and the bag itself only weighed .4. They ran about 1pp at an Alchemy tradeskill vendor.
Will you be rotating experience zone modifiers? TAKP felt bland for leveling alts since the exp bonuses in Highkeep, Unrest, etc. were so high it made it feel bad to level anywhere else.
For movement speed buffs, checkout the level 3 wizard spell "haste". It gives everyone in the area increased movement speed. Very nice spell to prioritize. The only downside is it makes everyone fatigued after it runs out and everyone in the group starts yawning and complaining.

Yeah, it has the classic versions of nektulus, Freeport, North Ro. Also has classic character models. In fact they disable the use of the Luclin character models so you're forced into using the old character models.
I agree that gold gain is really slow/heroes are very expensive. A tip I read on Reddit looked very helpful. It said that you can never get the same daily quest twice so if you keep 2/3 daily quests as 200 gold quests, you have a higher chance of getting higher value daily quests.

This was in the original SMAC. For example recycling tanks(+1food/production/energy in base square) recreation commons(+2 happiness) ,network nodes(+50% science),energy bank(+50% energy) all were available free to new bases once you had some late game techs.

Blizzard without firebirds is pretty bad imo. Try out arcane torrent. It is amazing versus elites. I like the lightning rune the best although the last arcane rune is pretty good too. The lightning stun passive proc also happens quite a bit with this skill which helps give you a few more...

This expansion reveal is very underwhelming. Where is the new feature that no one was expecting? This is all just evolution, where is the revolution? I can see the expansion being interesting for a little while but its still the same game.
I just checked Zoltun Kulle and he still has a 3 minute enrage timer. He will teleport to you every ~2 seconds and do a ton of damage on teleport. On MP0, with ~778k effective hp(using defensive passives) on myself-found barbarian(self buffed) it did about 33% damage each hit. Needless to say...
