Looks like we are about to have 6 starting QBs from last seasons draft going into this season. (Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Penix, JJ McCarthy and Bo Nix)
Feels like its something but I wonder if there are similar seasons or even seasons that challenge this one before?
I've only been paying attention since like 09 and I think I haven't seen something like this yet, but it might've happened and I just didn't puzzle it together

It was quite a good QB class. Jury out on whether all of them will last, but I'd bet on at least 4 being semi long term starters.

Honestly, all the national game schedules (TNF, MNF, SNF) look far better than they have been - they're almost all at least playoff or near-playoff vs playoff teams, or divisional games.

Edit: Packers, like the rest of the NFC North, have much tougher divisions than last year, but also get a rough start on top of that, getting the Lions in week one, then a short week for TNF, then a bye in Week 5 - bleh.

Edit 2: Like usual, I need the annotated version of the Chargers video - it's filled with in- / weird jokes, like the to-scale Acropolis in Nashville.

Before they finally locked down the pay scale for draft picks, a first round QB almost always was the starter year one since so much money was being dumped there.

The draft in 83 was probably the best QB class - you had 6 QBs taken in the first round, 3 of which were hall of famers (Elway, Marino, Kelly)

The most recent that stands out in memory in terms of quantity was 99 (that draft always stands out in my memory though since it was also the one where Mike Ditka traded all his picks to trade up and pick Ricky Williams).

First Round:
Tim Couch
Donovan McNabb
Akili Smith
Daunte Culpepper
Cade McNown

Shaun King was drafted in the 2nd and also started games as a rookie.

Looking at the Patriots Schedule...if this was 8 years ago(when brady was around) i'd say 13-4 at worst.

NOW, lets see -BARRING injuries of course... imo 9-8 or 10-7 or better is a possibility.

Vrabel is a good coach.

I can see the Patriots having a decent shot of winning the following games:

Raiders
Panthers
Saints
Browns
Falcons
Jets x2
Giants
Titans
Steelers

that is 10 potential wins right there.
I am not saying they'll win all or even most of those games until i see how the League develops and which teams suck or are good this year.

Then, if they can steal a few wins vs:

Dolphins x2
bills x2
Ravens
Bengals
Bucs

they could finish over 500-potentially well over 500 & make a wild card playoff spot.

Patriots ceiling is 7-8 wins. I'll be shocked if it's higher than that. They'll be better, but they still stink.

The NFC South is the easiest NFC draw... but the AFC North is not.

I'd expect 7-10 or 8-9* with a lot of optimism for next season when the OLine gets one or two more people for the rotation and more experience together.

*Depending on how Tua holds up, that could be #2 in the division.

If Flacco is starting for the Browns, you aren't beating them with their defense. You way underestimate the Falcons. And if Rodgers signs with the Steelers, you aren't beating them. That puts your likely win total at 7.

Now since this is the NFL, you will likely win a couple games you shouldn't but you'll likely also lose a couple games you hold win. So 7 wins is probably a good estimate.

If Rodgers has been waiting for the schedule release, imagine my surprise when the Steelers play the Jets in week 1

Steelers / Packers is also a SNF game, though admittedly both teams do have wide-ranging fanbases.

that would be hilarious. but i feel bad for the Kid. he SHOULD make it thru training camp- unless he sucks- he needs to be more mature and put in the work, he was good in College, put the work in and he might be good in the Pros

Cut from the Browns completely? Unlikely.

Doing a stint on the practice squad until one (or maybe even two) of Pickett and Flacco go on IR? Entirely plausible.
