I was on The Tribunal server too in The Companions guild from 1999 - 2003 approx.
Went from PoF/PoH to PoP era. Raiding. Raiding. Raiding all the time.

I used to play an HE magician called Saidin and an Iksar Monk called Ziggiss.

It seems like there was always drama on the server. Good Times though!

That aside, there was 1 night in particular I remember we just finished killing Yelinak, we went to PoG and somehow did Tunare in less than an hour (we were expecting to have to spend most of the night there clearing but had an extremely lucky pull), then we went to Kael and did Tormax. Was one of the best nights ever at that time for the guild doing 3 major bosses in less than 3 hours.

I love to go back to this time. Logging on, get your list of targets, guild bank for regeants, hitch a ride, and begin buffing.

I was lead cleric for awhile and had to get the heal rotations, buffing, and seconding healing down and I remember having a list of people I could contact and trust to fill in if needed.

When is the last time anyone had a physical list or friends list full of people you knew? At one time I pretty we'll knew every healer and their ability to play.

I experienced this to an extent with FFXI but the majority of people I knew on there were NA and I've only met a handful of them in person since and kept in touch with very few outside of that. EQ on the other hand, I'm still in touch with the majority of my EU guildmates and a bunch of other guys I used to share the server with. I can remember their classes, alts, strengths and weaknesses, armour dye colours, etc nearly ten years after quitting the game.

hmmm....Saidin...somehow i remember you. i think we grouped a couple time in Sebilis or so

I was super low key but I was on the Tribunal for awhile too... I had RL friends who raided with E & L but I just played a monk... Solarbane. Unlikely anyone remembers me.

Was in Seekers/Vindi myself although didnt play much when the drama was happening with the server rotations and the HOSS drama , i played mainly during vanilla and Kunark and a bit of Velious. But man did i enjoy the game back then , my fondest memory of the game was almost losing my corpse in Fear with some damn nice gear on it , mainly my Manastone which i got in a sweet trade that had a fbss with it and all i traded for it was some dex cloak from Sol B. Ahh , buying a 16mb video card to play the game and a PCI one at that because best buy didnt have anymore AGPs and fuck waiting till they got some in.No game came close to the fun i had playing a game like EQ did , although WoW did it for a bit , but that faded quickly and just got tired of MMOs in general.

I remember all of the mages from Companions. There was you, me, Glisterin, Craigin, Glober, one other guy who I remember as Pseudo but I can't remember his mage name

That was another cool thing about EQ. You were aware of guilds on other servers and followed their progress and exploits with interest. With the exception of world number one guild cult-following in games like WoW, I struggle to think of any MMO where other servers used to post congratulatory threads on game progression or where videos like those above were still being played ten years later and generating the same emotions as back then.

At work today, I was talking about having a shitty group in WoW, and I went "I had to sit down and med way to much in that place" and buddy goes "Med? Is that a new shadow priest spell?". My history and nostalgia got the better of me.

We had a rapper in our guild that created 2 guild songs, I created this video using both songs a long ass time ago. The video is really old and kinda bad. It is mainly our guild roster which nobody will care about, but imo the songs are still pretty badass
