fleet mini game isn't as rewarding as having you're own crew, you can't "call" your crew into action, you also can't level up your ships just sell and replace them. it get's pretty tedious after a while from "repairing" all the time cuz it takes 3 seconds per ship. Battles take way too long, since it's ghetto final fantasy ATB.

Hows the multiplayer in this game?

Only reason I ask is that I'm probably going to have the game mostly beat before it even officially releases on PC, with just a ton of side stuff to mess around with.

Will it be worth starting completely over with the Steam release just for the sake of multiplayer?

I've got about 8 hours played. I 100% completed Havana (the first city), did a couple missions in Nassau and unlocked some more of my ship. Haven't even touched multiplayer yet. Piracy is pretty damned fun. Love boarding ships.

I have found with AC games in the past that the multiplayer is always enjoyable but its popularity seems to drop off pretty quickly after launch. There isn't really any downside to playing multiplayer on another system than you did single player, though. They don't tie together, at least they didn't in past games, haven't played AC4 yet.

if you play on PC nvidia released new drivers today to optimize ac4

ninja edit: been running release version of AC4, exactly the same thing as the leaked asian version from last week, doing a windiff at the moment with both versions installed. The PS4 version is superior, the PC version has lots of screen tearing problems and FPS drops and wonky input issues, and I see people on reddit complaining about crashing. Graphically they are pretty much identical, I see no real difference but the engine is pretty crappy so its not a surprise.

multiplayer does have some crafting components, like build weapons and gear from shit you find I think in sp (not sure about this), so probably better to stick to just 1 platform. The multiplayer is fun at launch but pretty dead a few weeks out, especially on PC.

Is the update auto download on the psn?
It started automatically downloading for me when I turned my PS4 on.

The game is definitely crisper with the patch, there was a slight blur going on before hand. The new AA is much better too.Mostpeople probably won't notice it, but I'm really sensitive to jaggies and blurred stuff, especially on my 60". I think it's one of those more subtle things that either bugs the shit out of you or it doesn't.

I thought my game looked different today but I chalked it up to being overtired from work. Glad to see Ubisoft can patch and fix their shit reasonably fast, while EA / Dice cant even get Conquest on consoles to work right

No framerate drops and I was fighting 5 ships at once in a huge storm. All the cannon smoke coming in going, rogue waves, water spouts etc couldn't make it chug. Hella impressed.
