The game looks significantly better on PS5. It is 4k on a 65" TV vs 1440p on a monitor, but I wasn't expecting such a huge difference.

No mention of it yet from any of the data miners, I loved me some BF2142.
Another part of this specialist crap is it kills the feeling of squad play unless you are in a premade group going in, you don't know who is doing what. McKay feels superior to just about all the others, the healing gun just feels redundant with being able to heal over time and fuck trying to shoot your own team to heal them. The sentry gun just feels too slow, the aerial drone I guess is ok cause it can spot and EMP those robodogs that eat a million armor piercing rounds. Give me discount Pathfinder with faster ADS any day of the week.

played two games on xbox, will play some more on ps5 tonight. yeah, game is in a real rough state, but i think a lot of it is just getting used to all the new ways to do stuff. i still haven't figured out how to change my loadout to have a healing syrnge lol.
still sooooo buggy, on console i'd rubber band a lot, flying a chopper feels wonky, i've ran over people many, many times with a ground vehicle and just floated right through them, all sorts of hitbox detection and turret AI problems. It reminds me a lot of how fucked up BF4 was at release.
i still had fun, but probably mostly due to maps and environmental shit. The map i was playing conquest on had a hurricane in the middle of the game and that shit was cool as fuuuuuck. it really felt a lot more destructible environment than BF4. on the other hand, everything also feels fucking weird, like not quite "realistic". i know its 2042 so i guess electric vehicles are gonna be a war thing but its bizarre driving a armored vehicle and getting that tesla "bzzzzzzz" driving sound. Just a bazillion things like that.
You can tell this game needs another year of polish at least, but hey, maybe it'll be a glorious set of wonky shit going on in 128 player maps. I'll definitely be playing on my PS5 with cross play turned off.

The maps in BF1 sucked dick. You honestly thought a map like Suez was good? LINEAR MAPZ SO CUL GUYZ! Whoever takes C wins, yay! Horrible.
Then you had shit like Galicia and Caporetto, where if you weren't a pilot or sniper, don't even bother.
BF1 was trash. Not as bad as 5, but still trash.

Suez, Caporreto suck dick and so did that russian map with 3 caps, but the gameplay with a squad was really good fun. Especially the random Howie Scream peppered in. They did have a weapon variation issue that they also created in BF5 by trying to balance weapons that didn't need it, getting pissed and refusing to roll it back then stopping all support for the game. Now there are only 3 weapons you can use on the support class.
Sniping in BF1 was very satisfying with the sweet spot ranges and all classes had good competitive weapons. After the last balance patch the game was in a great spot, they just needed more/better maps.
I disagree on Galacia, a good squad could flank and turn that whole game around, just took some teamwork. The biggest downfall on BF1 was that fucking artillery truck, fuck those guys that abuse it.

It was the only game I could snipe in due to the sweet spots they added (Which I think was a kickass mechanic), I loved running CQC OHK with the SMLE. That shit was very satisfying. I mostly ran medic for the DMRs.

I feel like I saw the trailer video showing them dynamite jumping a jeep into one of the BF2142 flying carriers/gunships. I think thats a good sign if they keep it.
