I think part of the problem is it takes an act of god to bring down heli's if they got engis inside repping.

I get the nausea/headache effect in 2 different instances. the first is the Hovercraft HL2 stages. the second is the entire game of guild wars 2. I've had 0 problems in bf4 so far.

Too much hype right now.
There are some good things and bad things and overall, if you liked BF3 you will most likely like this game as well. Always hard to justify 60 on a yearly upgrade FPS which are dime a dozen. At least this one has exploding things in the maps that change the way the map is in the game. I liked single player from what I played of it last night before I went to bed, but I guess that sucks later.
To each their own. I am sure there is a deal to be had sooner or later and you can get the entire game with all the premium pack bullshit micro transactions for maps and game types along with it.
BF3 still has a major population. About the only thing you will lose out on is wading through all the multiplayer bugs.
Two things that DICE always seems to nail though. Graphics but most importantly, audio. The audio in this game completely dominates at every level. Whoeever their sound designer is, should not be working for EA but rather a company that deserves him/her.

Makes sense. I bought the BF3 premium and all that stuff when it was on sale for 20 bucks last christmas, and I played it like 4-5 times after that.

So, an update to help anyone else with similar components (i7-920, 5870's). First, DICE forgot to have the game install all DX parts, so you need to manually update it within the game folder. 2nd (and this was huge for me), if you have an i7 with HT, TURN IT OFF. My yo-yo FPS went away. Game is playable now

Slight hijack ,the turning off HT bit has me considering doing that just to save a few Celcius on the temp on my gaming rig at home. I've got a 3770k OC'd to something reasonable like 4.3 on decent air cooling , running fine for a few months since built it. Are there any games at all that will use more than 4 threads currently anyway ? Might as well turn off HT if not.
And is the HT thing a Frostbite engine issue ? Quick google of turning if off turns up quite a bit of people suggesting in on BF3 ?

90% of my games are total shit where I suck dick like a tranny hooker and have a 0.01 K/D ratio, but that one game... where everything goes just right, it all makes it worth it, and you realize... war is hell, son
I am having the same issue. On top of that, every 10-15 minutes, the game would freeze and sound goes on loop.

borderless doesn't really seem to work at all, even when you get it going full-screen you can't tab out to windows behind it, bf4 insists on always being on top.
Since its not really like an MMO where you want to look shit up or watch porn while playing, for now I just set BF4 to windowed and ALT-ENTER to switch between fullscreen and windowed. It'll switch in loading screens no problem so easy way to tab out and read mail and forums between games. fullscreen works fine with battlelog on second window (F11 inside chrome to toggle battlelog fullscreen)

I had this same thing happen to me. But then I went from windowed to full-screen and it stopped. I don't know if I got lucky but it hasn't done it so far.
