are these germans, crooks or contractors? because i dont remember him killing anyone who werent already bad guys.
this was "his guys, his team"

When walt took out gus, lydia freaked out, made a hit list of all of mikes men and bribed one of his guys to take them out, he took out a few, took out chang too, then Mike took him out.

Wish they had googled Coushatta, LA and looked up the pronounciation. Was way off. They have a resort and casino there now, so must be something out there to get it from. Maybe lol.

There is a 99% chance that that is entirely deliberate - it works even better as an inside joke that way.

i still say Mike wont off a group of german contractors just because they outlived their usefulness. he isnt a good guy. basically nobody on this show is. but the audience would be up in arms if they make Mike go down that path.

There's something missing in Mike's motivations that hasn't really been provided by the show. We know that he's doing some or most of this just to provide for his granddaughter/fill in for his son's responsibilities, but surely that was done well enough long before he decided to side with Walt. He's a smart enough man to know exactly who he's working for, so he has to be OK with it on some level.

We saw Walt start out for financial reasons but descend into evil because of his growing lust for power, but what is Mike's reason to go too far? I don't buy that it was just to keep "his guys" provided for as going that far put his family at risk.

Hopefully this stuff with the Germans will provide some context, because him just killing a bunch of them doesn't really fit the character so far.

This was more what I was getting at too. He doesn't seem to necessarily be sinister. He's doing what he's paid for, but he isn't exactly a hired killer either. He seems to want to avoid killing people unless it's directly putting his own life(or a loved one) in immediate danger. So I don't think he'll kill the germans either. But he might kill the one if he gets out of hand and maybe gets aggressive with him.

i think Mike would toss a beatdown on these guys before he would kill them. but who knows at this point.

I think mike inherits responsibility once he feels loyal to some one. THE PD he worked for (went crooked for them) his son (killed the bad cops for him) then his daughter in law, then his bargain with the stupid gaudy pill-salesman, then gus. he's the ultimate henchman and at the same time an exaperated, tired utility worker. he makes things function once he gave his word.

I dont think he's at a point right now where he's planning on killing them when they're done. It does seem like they're going down that path, though, and i'm sure more will end up happening that will force his hand.

Didn't Mike go to great lengths to avoid killing Tuco in S2? And Tuco is a total piece of shit. I know this show is all about the characters getting worse and worse, but I don't think capping a bunch of german engineers that never hurt anyone really fits with the character even if he is going down hill.

I doubt the germans just suddenly get their act together and hit their deadline. Obviously, something's going to happen with them, and Mike being forced to take them out is the most likely. Killing the jerk-off guy wouldn't bother anyone, but having to kill the old man would have a lot more impact.

Maybe it's been Gus' plan to kill them all anyways to prevent any possible leak in the future. The plot could be leading to showing Mike go further than he thought he would by allowing it to happen, and realizing that he's actually OK with it, which could explain why he's more ruthless in BB than he seems to be in this.

I just don't see mike being the one to pull the trigger. I'd more likely bet on Gus's other guy from BB who's killed people for disobeying etc would be the one to do it. It would piss mike off, but obviously he'd have to deal with it.

You guys think Jimmy will save the old German with a new identity on Mike's behalf?
no, we all know these guys are going to end up dead as soon as they are done or near completion of the meth lab. it may even be some "accidental" explosion during one of their final excavations.
Gus, i need them to blast this section for an extra office.
Mike, uh that isnt in the blueprints, these guys arent gonna be happy about this
Gus, i need a monitoring station, dont worry i will compensate them handsomely.
-germans laying the charges when it explodes unexpectedly, burying the entire crew in this subsection.-
mike's face when he realises Gus did this shit on purpose.
