There is no reason for us to jump OSU right now. Like it or not, agree or disagree with their schedule, they're undefeated and in a major conference. Both Auburn and OSU have crucial games next week, let's let the season play through. All this what if tomfoolery is ridiculous.

If Auburn follows up beating the number 1 team with beating the number 4 team, Auburn deserves to jump OSU. OSU doesn't play anybody so going undefeated doesn't really matter compared to how Auburn is finishing their season.
I agree.

However I think Alabama drops to #4 and Mizzou will be #5.

Thank you for the comedy gold! Looking at their amazingly difficult schedule, I'm glad they finally played a top team. Two ranked teams on that whole schedule and one of them barely beat the listless Razorbacks this week. Go (home) Bama!!!!!
You can go around in that logic all night. The team that barely beat Arkansas also was the only team to beat Auburn....

The BCS average score is the one that matters. Going into this week OSU and Auburn are about .1 apart which is pretty huge. I highly doubt they'll pass them up unless even if they stomp in the SEC championship and OSU barely squeaks by in the B10 championship. Alabama will likely drop to around where Auburn is now, or thereabouts so they'll be 4 or 5 this week and not have a championship game to play.

Not sure how you don't give the nod to Auburn this year. Clearly OSU played the weakest schedule in any conference and barely made it, they need to be thrown out of the mix.

^ I made that post with pure hate for Dumar, but it is also the truth.

Reading the SEC rant tonight is almost as good as reading the TexAgs board last week.

Congrats - hell of a game, disappointed as hell but did think it was awesome that a 24/7/365 fan and AU grad grabbed tickets and got to experience this.

I don't mind the grief I'll get from the Auburn fans I work with, they deserve their fun. But damn all of the obnoxious ACC fans here, go watch fucking basketball.

The what if is part of the fun. It's a message board where what if about years of mmo beta's and launches is half the fun and conversation. And OSU's own coach is whining and campaigning the past few weeks , so fuck it , I can say he's full of shit and think not playing a top 10 team since 09 and playing 2 total ranked teams this year means they aren't owed shit in my opinion. If AU wins the SEC championship game the computers , and rightfully so , may bump them the way hell up , Edwards even said some may very well bump them ahead of FSU.

The tomfoolery is part of the fun. Don't begrudge Dumar a bit going off on his side either. After the 12 win Bowden season where we got to go nowhere ,the 04 undefeated where we got screwed and so on , I've got no problem with campaigning.

Interestingly , if this was next year's system, and AU beat Missouri , the 4 team playoff would have a chance of having an Iron Bowl 2 for the national championship. Not sure that state would survive that.

I personally don't see that happening. Too much political behind the scenes lobbying to get 4 teams from 4 different conferences. Even those picked to be on te selection group have talked about it already. Even if they managed to stick 2 from the SEC I would guess they would stick them in the same bracket in order to not have a title game with 2 from the same conference.

The bracket might be the same , but Alabama would definitely be in it this year. FSU/OSU and winner of SEC championship game , then you think they will jump an Ok State team over Alabama ? I dont see that happening.

Same bracket maybe , but they wouldnt bump out a close loss Alabama team using this year as as an example. It would be stupid to just to get a different conference in.There are enough on the selection committee to see how moronic it would be to leave out Alabama.

This BCS computers today have Alabama at #2, Missouri #4, and Auburn #5. Interesting to see what the polls have them at and what the final number is tomorrow. I believe the polls count for 2/3 of the total.

It will be interesting. If you forced me to bet id lean towards fsu OSU in the end.
It's just the first time I can remember Edwards actually ever not being sure of who is going to be number two after the championship weekend.
He basically was saying there should be some computers that rank AU number one if they beat Missouri also because of beating two top 5 teams in a row. He said if that happens it won't take as many human voters to switch from OSU to AU , just a portion. Again I'd lean OSU too and he does also slightly ,but it's the first time I've seen him this uncertain.

Of course my hope really is in the spartan defense , while the fsu duke game will be a joke , there's a perfectly reasonable chance Mich state can beat OSU.

And joeboo , what odds could we have gotten in Vegas preseason for a Missouri-AU top 5 sec championship game ?

If somehow the coaches colluded and voted tOSU way down to get #3 overall, then Ohio State would likely decline any bowl invitation and self-boycott.

Yeah, throw away a few million. Not sure how your conference distributes money but in the SEC it's an equal split to all teams for bowl game revenue and they would likely kick out a school for even suggesting it.
